👩‍🌾 Augusts Women’s Farmer of the Month is Kimberly Webb! 👩‍🌾

“Kimberly M Webb PhD is the Agriculture Extension Agent for NC Cooperative Extension Wake County Center based out of Raleigh. Dr. Webb is responsible for extension support for all field crops, livestock, and horticulture crops being grown from commercial production.

Dr. Webb loves working in agriculture and wants to continue helping farmers with real world solutions to complex agricultural problems so that they can continue being successful in their farming operations!

She strives to be a positive role model for urban students demonstrating that you do not have to live on a farm to develop a successful career in agriculture”

The WLC had a wonderful time baking for the RMH residents. Making sure they had lots of sweet treats to come back to after long days at the hospital!

One of the residents even stopped by the kitchen early to make sure they got a treat! 🍰🍪

Pop Tab Collection complete!

Every year all of our offices participate in a competition to see who can raise the most pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, and the numbers are in!

Fuquay office won with 103lbs with a county wide total of 126lbs!!

Our committee placed blood pressure monitors in all Wake County Farm Bureau offices as part of our Heart Healthy Project. Stop by an office today to check your blood pressure ❤️

Our Committee has been busy volunteering in our community and doing Spring Ag in the Classroom lessons this month 🪴

We provided refreshments at Operation Inasmuch at Rolesville Baptist Church and taught lessons on strawberries and greenhouses at Wake County Elementary Schools! 🍓🍓🍓

Winky Perry, one of our outstanding volunteers, also serves as the current Co- Chair of the NC Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee. We are grateful for her dedication, passion, and love for all things AG! ❤️

Meet Winky Perry of Wake County!

Winky serves as the current Co- Chair of the NC Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee.

She and her husband own and operate RC Perry Farms, where they grow wheat, soybeans, and rye, sell baled straw, grow to***co plants from seed in the greenhouse, and sell the transplants.

In addition to her work on the farm, Winky is an active leader in her community—serving on her county’s Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee. She was also a past 4-H leader.

What inspires or motivates you in your community or professional life?
I have always been drawn towards volunteering to help, teach, or serve. Attempting to make a difference motivates me.

We are proud to highlight Winky as part of the International Year of the Woman Farmer and celebrate her dedication to agriculture and leadership across North Carolina! N.C. Farm Bureau
