The South Shore Neptunes was founded on July 5, 1955 by a group of enthusiastic scuba divers and first met in the basement of a home in the town of Holbrook, MA. The South Shore Neptunes was incorporated in Massachusetts on July 5, 1962. Over the years, the club has been involved with many different aspects of diving. This includes the founding of other organizations that members of the Neptunes h
ave started including The Quincy Underwater Recovery Team, The Bay State Council of Divers and The Quincy Underwater Rugby Team (Narwhals). We have regular monthly meetings and organize club dives, dive charters, dive trips and social events for our members. The Neptunes have assisted local police and the US Coast Guard with underwater recovery missions through the Quincy Underwater Recovery Team. We monitor beach access and new laws affecting scuba divers in Massachusetts through The Bay State Council of Divers. In 1978, Neptune members were the first to play Underwater Rugby in the United States and the first US team to go to the Underwater Rugby World Championships in Denmark in 1999. We support our local dive shops and other charitable organizations like the TRP, which supports the reintegration of our veterans. Come join us and see what we are all about!
