This monument of , by
William Ordway Partridge was dedicated on April 23 1894. It sits on a Pedestal of Quincy Granite made by the Granite Railway Company. Partridge deliberately designed the pedestal low as he said Shakespeare belongs to be among the people whom he loved so dearly.

Quincy Quarry and Granite Workers Museum mourns the passing of our longtime friend and tour organizer extraordinaire, Vic Campbell. VIC was instrumental in teaching people about our Granite Railway history with his Quarry to Wharf tours for many years.

During the year of 1906 Robert Cantley , the new owner of the Lyons Turning Mill made these columns using stock from his Goldleaf Quarry that was next to his turning mill.
A spur track of the Quarry Railroad skirted the north bank of the quarry with a gradual grade to another track that led to the mill. ( today this area is occupied by the Granite Links Ballroom and parking lot

Freeman Hunt monument. Freeman Hunt 1804 -1858 was a noted magazine publisher in nineteenth century New York, most known for being the editor of Hunt’s Merchant Magazine.
This Quincy granite monument ,an obelisk 16 feet high is located near the graves of his mother and sister.Simple in form ,it stands on a gracefully curved base, ornamented with deep grooves, after the French style of rusticating . It was made at the McGrath , Mitchell & Co. stone shed. (Raised Letters were an expensive touch in the days before pneumatic tools. )

Memorial. Dedicated on Memorial Day 1954 ,the monument was unveiled by Mayor , a father. The monument is nine feet wide by six feet high and one foot thick. Polished Quincy granite, it was manufactured by W.C. Cannif & Sons Inc. At their Penn Street South Quincy plant.

(1577~ 1625) Memorial. He was an important leader and organizer of the voyage in 1620. The obelisk is Quincy granite , 25 feet high with bronze tablets. Although he is buried in England, his descendants erected this memorial in 1857. At that time the remains of his son and other family members were found and buried within a space below the monument. The monument was made by Charles R. Mitchell & Company Quincy MA.

Firemen’s Memorial . A nine foot three inch bronze statue by John Wilson of Boston stands on top of a Quincy granite pedestal for a total height of twenty six feet. Dedicated in June of 1909, the lot contains 249 burial sites in order to pay tribute to deceased members so that they would be assured of a final and decent resting place .
The four bronze bas reliefs depict the spirit of Louis Maurer’s famous series of prints
