The show in Westerly is SOLD OUT!!!! We are blown away!!! Thank you everyone who came to see the performance last weekend, and if you are attending next weekend, you are in for a treat!!

BALLET RI: IN MOTION | NOVEMBER 6 | 7:30PM - The UNITED’s resident dance company, Ballet RI, presents In Motion, a special night of dance live at the UNITED featuring three pieces: Bathers, City of Women, and a world premiere in collaboration with the Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center.
Ballet RI returns to the luminous world of American Impressionism with Yury Yanowsky’s Bathers, where fleeting moments are suspended in movement like brushstrokes on canvas, inspired by works at the Westerly Museum of American Impressionism. The evening continues with the company premiere of City of Women by James Whiteside, a bold and neoclassical exploration of femininity, identity, and power. Rounding out the program is a powerful world premiere inspired by the story of Lillian Birch, created in collaboration with the Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center. This moving new work asks what it means to remember, and how the body can carry history forward across generations.
Performed in the Black Box with performers staged on the floor. All seating is general admission, first-come first-served, in the balcony and on the floor. Doors at 6:30pm.
Tickets are $50 and on sale now.

Imagine looking out your window and witnessing your world change forever.

On November 9, 1938, Jeanne’s mother witnessed the horrors of Kristallnacht firsthand in Austria.

Today, Jeanne shares her mother’s memories, reminding us why these stories must never be forgotten.

As we commemorate Kristallnacht, we invite you to join us for a special lecture with Dr. Ilana Offenberger, exploring the events of that night in Austria and their lasting impact.

We remember. We honor. We educate.

Be part of a meaningful evening of film, conversation, and remembrance!

Join us for a special screening of One SMALL Miracle, an inspiring documentary about the restoration of a once-abandoned Jewish cemetery in Poland.

Following the film, Alan Metnick will share his experiences preserving Jewish cemeteries and why keeping the stories of once-vibrant Jewish communities alive matters. Come discover how small acts of remembrance can make a lasting impact. We hope to see you there!

What happens to the stories that don’t make it into the final film?

In 1973, filmmaker Claude Lanzmann began the 12-year journey of creating Shoah, recording more than 230 hours of interviews and footage for what would become one of the most significant Holocaust documentaries ever made.

Much of that footage was never seen in the final film—but today, it has been preserved, digitized, and made accessible as an extraordinary archive of testimony and memory.

Join us for a lecture with Jennifer Cazenave as she explores the making of Shoah through this remarkable collection, uncovering new perspectives on Holocaust testimony, Lanzmann’s filmmaking process, and what it means to preserve memory in the digital age.

A powerful look at the stories beyond the finished film—and why preserving them matters.
