Apparently, our last chicken plate sale left everybody wanting MORE! 😂

We heard all the compliments about how good that chicken was, and we've had plenty of folks asking when we were going to do it again. Well, we listened, and WE'RE FIRING UP THE GRILL AGAIN! 🔥

Tri-County Memorial VFW Post 1349 and Auxiliary is bringing back our delicious chicken plates, and the best part? You're getting chicken AND TWO SIDES for just $12!

📅 Friday, 6 November 🚗 Delivery to local businesses from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

📅 Saturday, 7 November 🍽️ Individual plate pickup begins at 11:00 AM- we'll also have the games going at the post!

💵 $12 per plate 💳 Cash or Venmo accepted- include your name and if you're doing an individual or business order!

📝 Sign-up sheets will be available at the Post or reach out via messenger.

❤️🤍💙 All proceeds will help support our veteran programs! So not only are you getting a delicious meal, you're helping us continue giving back to those who have served our country.

🎃 What a SPOOKTACULAR Weekend at Tri-County Memorial VFW Post 1349! 👻🎶

WOW! What an incredible weekend filled with fun, laughter, music, and community spirit!

🎃 Friday Night's Halloween Party was a huge success! We had a fantastic turnout, some great costumes, and plenty of laughs! A very special THANK YOU to DJ Entertainment for keeping the tunes rolling all night long and making sure the party never missed a beat! 🎶🕺

🍬 Saturday's Trunk or Treat was just as amazing! We absolutely loved seeing all the children dressed up in their Halloween costumes, collecting candy, and enjoying the festivities. Seeing so many families come through and enjoy the evening is exactly what makes events like this so special!

🎤 And what better way to wrap up a wonderful weekend than with karaoke on Saturday night! There was no shortage of entertainment, laughter, and good times!

🕊️ With Heavy Hearts and Deepest Sympathy

The Tri-County Memorial VFW Post 1349 Auxiliary extends our heartfelt condolences to VFW Department of Alabama State Commander, C**t Drouillard and his family, following the unexpected passing of his beloved wife, Emily Drouillard.

There are no words that can ease the pain of such a tremendous loss. During this incredibly difficult time, we ask our members, fellow Veterans, and the community to keep Commander Drouillard and his loved ones in your thoughts.

The VFW and Auxiliary are more than organizations; We are a family, and when one of our own is hurting, we come together with compassion, love, and support.

May Commander Drouillard and his family find comfort in the memories they shared with Emily, strength in the love surrounding them, and peace in the days ahead.

We respectfully ask everyone to honor the family's privacy as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies are with the entire Drouillard family. ❤️🇺🇸

🖤💙 Our community mourns the loss of one of its own 💙🖤

The Tri-County Memorial VFW Post 1349 Auxiliary extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow officers of Corporal Dakota Lee Davis of the Prattville Police Department, who tragically lost his life following an off-duty motor vehicle accident on 26 October 2026.
Our hearts are especially heavy for his wife and loved ones, who are now facing an unimaginable loss.

Behind every badge is a person, a family, and a life that extends far beyond the uniform.

Corporal Davis was not only an officer who served and protected our community, but also a husband, family member, friend, and valued part of Prattville.

As an organization dedicated to supporting our veterans, service members, first responders, and their families, we recognize the sacrifices made by those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

We ask our members and community to join us in keeping Corporal Davis's wife, family, friends, and the entire Prattville Police Department in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.

May we never take for granted those who answer the call to serve, and may we always remember the families who stand behind them.

Rest in peace, Corporal Dakota Lee Davis. Your service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of CPL. Dakota Lee Davis of the Prattville Police Department. CPL. Davis succumbed to injuries he received from an off-duty motor vehicle accident that occurred yesterday evening on HWY 31 N at the I-65 Pine Level Exit. The loss of CPL. Davis is devastating not only to the Prattville Police Department but the City of Prattville and he will be missed by all. We ask that you keep his wife, his family and the PPD in your thoughts and prayers. A law enforcement es**rt for CPL. Davis will be passing by on I-65 from Montgomery to Millbrook shortly. The accident investigation is still on going by ALEA, more information will be released in the future.

📝 PATRIOT'S PEN — Grades 6–8

Middle school students can showcase their writing skills and patriotism through a 300–400 word essay.

🏆 National First Place: $5,000

🎤 VOICE OF DEMOCRACY — Grades 9–12

High school students can compete for educational scholarships by submitting a 3–5 minute recorded audio essay.

🏆 National First Place: $35,000 Scholarship

🇺🇸 2026–2027 Theme for BOTH Competitions:
"What a Veteran Taught Me About America"

🍎 SMART/MAHER VFW TEACHER OF THE YEAR — Grades K–12

Do you know an outstanding teacher who goes above and beyond to promote citizenship, patriotism, American history, or community involvement?

We want to recognize them!

Nominations are accepted for three categories:

- Elementary School (K–5)
- Middle School (6–8)
- High School (9–12)

🏆 National winners receive $1,000 for professional development, $1,000 for their school, and national recognition!

Teacher nominations must include:
✅ Completed nomination form
✅ Resume (minimum one page)
✅ Supporting documentation, if available
✅ Headshot, if available

Teachers may be nominated by colleagues, supervisors, family members, community members, or themselves.
