Got Chinese for lunch today, and apparently even my fortune cookie knows me. 😂🥠

“Never be less than your dreams.”

Whew. That one hit a little differently.

As a founder, dreamer, and someone whose brain is constantly thinking about what’s possible, I felt this one in my soul.

Some days those dreams feel bigger than the time, resources, or energy I have to bring them to life. But I’ve never been very good at thinking small. And honestly, I don’t think I want to be.

Here’s to dreaming big, figuring it out along the way, and never shrinking ourselves to fit what’s comfortable.

Apparently, even my lunch is cheering me on. 💚

Founder life? Creative mind? ADHD brain? All of the above. 😂💻

Just me, a hotel bed, an energy drink, and about 47 ideas running through my head.

This is the side of being a founder you don't always see. The random bursts of inspiration, the endless tabs open, the never-ending to-do lists, and the constant “wait, what if we tried THIS?” moments.

Sometimes that means your office is a hotel bed in the middle of the afternoon because you've got a little downtime and your brain has decided it's time to work on something. 🤣

It's chaotic, sometimes overwhelming, and there's always something else that could be done. But there's also something incredibly exciting about taking an idea and turning it into something real.

I genuinely love what I do, even when my brain has approximately 47 projects going at once.

So here I am… somewhere between “I should probably take a break” and “ooh, I just thought of something else!” 😂❤️

🎭 Everything went wrong… and we couldn’t stop laughing! 😂

Our LUSI learners had the best time at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival watching The Play That Goes Wrong! We laughed A LOT and got to learn about all the work that goes into putting on a play.

It was also one of our learners’ very first times at the theater, which made the trip even more special! ❤️

Such a fun day of EPICC learning, new experiences, and lots of laughter! 🎭

What a SPOOKTACULAR day in Dothan! 👻🧪🎃

We had an absolute blast at Spooky Science Spectacular yesterday! From building monster-powered cars and experimenting with witchy potions to solving spooky mysteries and navigating haunted graveyards with our Sphero robots, there was plenty of science, creativity, and Halloween fun to go around! 🔬 🧙‍♀️

One of our favorite parts of events like these is getting to connect with families, watch kids get excited about learning, and show just how much fun hands-on education can be! 💙 🦋

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by, participated in our activities, and made the day so much fun. We loved spending the morning with our Dothan families!

We can't wait to see everyone again next month for more learning, laughter, and hands-on adventures! 🧡

One of the most consequential bills that Gov. Kay Ivey signed into law was the Creating Hope and Opportunity for Our Students' Education Act of 2024 (CHOOSE Act). Former U.S. Sen. Doug Jones (D-Mountain Brook) and Democrats running for office statewide now say they want to end the highly successful program.

🕵️ We turned literary analysis into a crime scene.
Our Height Pod is reading A Wrinkle in Time, and since it’s October, we gave character analysis a spooky twist. 🎃
Learners created a life-size Character Autopsy of Meg Murry, investigating her thoughts, fears, relationships, actions, strengths, and growth.
But the chalk was only the beginning. Afterward, we discussed their findings, connected their answers to evidence from the novel, and challenged them to defend their interpretations.
The chalk made it fun. The conversation made it literary analysis. 📚
⚡ And this is our very first LUSI LESSON DROP!
We’re sharing activities we’ve actually created and tried at LUSI so other educators and homeschool families can use them too.
