Tomorrow, Thursday afternoon around 1pm, our Fire Chief will present a brief summary of the Budget to the BOCC. This budget has been approved by the CFD2 Board, which is comprised of residents appointed to govern and guide CFD2. We are seeking support on Sept. 3rd for BOCC approval of this budget, including a strong, sustainable 5-year projection for CFD2.

One of the most critical calls we run is a Cardiac Arrest. Literally, someone has ceased living and without trained, high quality intervention - they will not likely survive! CFD2 is proud to have a documented “Utstein” score for resuscitation of Cardiac Arrest that is a remarkable 50%! The National Average is 36.5%, so we far exceed that threshold! It is commonplace today to have a resident stop by and introduce themselves, to take time and tell the story of how their heart had stopped and our great folks extended their life! While we wish we could save everyone, this metric is a tangible value to the communities we serve!

Over the last 10 years, CFD2 has lowered our Mill Levy (tax rate) by 1.761 Mills! We never take these matters lightly, but your Fire District needs a small adjustment of a 0.35 Mill increase to combat economic pressures and continue the premier service we provide to the 8 great cities we proudly serve! We humbly ask for the support of businesses and residents in our communities - this infographic explains the details.
