For 20 years, the Kansas City Autism Training Center has been changing lives, supporting families, and helping children on the autism spectrum reach their fullest potential through compassionate, evidence-based care. 💙

On August 29th, we’ll come together for the 20 Years of Brilliance Gala, an inspiring evening celebrating the incredible creativity, growth, and achievements of the children and families who make this mission so meaningful. ✨

The event will feature an art gallery–themed evening highlighting student talent while raising critical support for the future of KcATC and the families we serve.

As we celebrate 20 incredible years, we’re reflecting on just how far we’ve come and all the lives, smiles, and memories that have filled these halls along the way. Every accomplishment, every happy moment, every connection made is something we pocket forever.

Over the years, some of our staffs’ favorite memories have come from the personal connections built with the families. So much so that we continue to stay connected long after a child has left our school, and it’s truly a gift to keep following their journeys beyond our center. Seeing some of the students walk in on their first day not talking yet to moving onto first grade talking all about who they want to be when they grow up and then watching them continue to thrive, grow in confidence, and achieve milestones far beyond what anyone could have imagined, is something we never take for granted.

There’s something so special about watching a child learn to ride a bike. What starts with wobbles, nervous turns, and learning the basics of pedaling, steering, and balancing slowly grows into confidence, independence, and pure joy. One of our favorite moments is seeing them finally push off on their own and ride away with the biggest smile on their face.

Bike riding feels like one of childhood’s greatest rites of passage, a reminder that growth takes patience, courage, and encouragement. Every small victory leads to a bigger one, and we are so proud to celebrate each milestone along the way. 💛
