I introduced you guys earlier this week to Lily the Beagle whose mom Susan needed Sister Santa’s help following an apartment fire forced them from their home. Well Susan is moving in to her new place after being displaced for 7 weeks. She got Lily back today and they are both settling in their new home. We helped coordinate with the Beagle and Bassett Rescue to provide a foster mom for Lily (thank you Angela), vet care and all the supplies they needed to get settled in their new space for Lily. Lily still needs some follow up vet care to include a surgery in May but she will be with her mama in their new place until then. So happy to have been part of this happy ending that meant Susan didn’t have to surrender Lily!

I am very serious about the privacy of any Sister Santa recepient but I am also big on transparency so those who donate to Sister Santa efforts know where their money is going. So this is an accountability post showing the awesome items I was able to deliver to Susan today so she can welcome her sweet beagle Lily back to her home. When I was there this evening I noticed she could really use two kitchen table chairs (table is oak pedestal) and her King bed box spring and mattress are sitting on the floor. She has no frame. So if anyone has these things or wants to donate for them, I would love to coordinate these final items.

I am giddy about a random gift bomb that I get to deliver this evening. I have teamed up with the Beagle and Bassett Hound rescue since February to support a women named Susan who lost her apartment in a fire. We found a foster for her beautiful beagle Lily and have been getting her some vet care that Susan couldn't afford. Susan gets the keys to her new apartment tonight and I am meeting her there to deliver a new bed, food bowls, toys, treats, etc for Lily. Then on Friday she is getting her sweet pup back.
I am so grateful that a friend of a friend Lauren brought Susan's situation to my attention through Free Hot Soup and that my friend Vicki at Beagle and Bassett Rescue was able to help with coordinating vet care. This one has taken a village but that is exactly what Sister Santa is all about!
