Kellen’s legacy is a reminder that organ donation can create hope in ways no one could ever imagine.

When Kellen passed away unexpectedly at just 22 years old, his family made the courageous decision to honor his wishes through organ donation.

His heart was transplanted into a teenage boy named Connor, who was desperately waiting for a second chance at life.

Kellen had chosen to be an organ donor long before his family knew it. Today, his legacy lives on.

This month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community and reaffirm our commitment to creating a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.

Every person deserves hope, compassion, and access to lifesaving care. Organ, eye, and tissue donation brings people together across every background, identity, and life experience, united by the power of generosity and the gift of life.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we honor the many LGBTQIA+ donors, recipients, donor families, living donors, volunteers, and advocates who help build stronger, more connected communities.

Together, we celebrate love, authenticity, and the incredible impact one person can have on the lives of others.

Jose was only 17 years old when he passed away in 2022. To his family, he was more than a son, he was a loving brother, a source of laughter, and one of their biggest supporters.

After losing him to su***de, his family made the brave and selfless decision to honor his life through organ donation, continuing a legacy of giving that began years earlier when Jose’s grandmother became a cornea donor.

Today, Alicia continues to share Jose’s story to encourage conversations about mental health, the importance of seeking help, and the life-changing impact of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

Stories like Jose’s remind us that compassion, connection, and hope can continue even through life’s hardest moments.
