g Washington residents through the Washington Donor Registry

- serving print, digital and television media as an accurate, reputable and nationally recognized resource on donation
-educating DMV employees about the difference they make when they ask, on our agency's behalf: "Do you wish to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor?"
-organizing special events and fundraisers to unite our community and sustain our life-saving work

Did you know? Donated tissue can help people heal from burns, cancer, sports injuries, and other traumatic injuries.

While organ donation often receives the most attention, tissue donation has the power to transform lives by restoring mobility, reducing pain, supporting recovery, and helping people return to the activities they love.

Every donor leaves a legacy of hope, healing, and renewed possibilities for others.

This Father's Day, we're celebrating the extraordinary love that parents show for their children.

When Cecilia's health took a devastating turn after years of waiting for a liver transplant, her family knew they couldn't wait any longer. Diagnosed at birth with biliary atresia, Cecilia had spent much of her young life dealing with illness, hospital visits, and uncertainty.

After a life-threatening internal bleed, her parents began exploring living donation. The answer was closer than they ever imagined. Tests revealed that her father, Rhett, was an ideal match. A few weeks later, father and daughter underwent transplant surgery together.

Today, Cecilia is thriving. She has more energy, fewer hospital visits, and is finally able to enjoy the activities many children take for granted. Her parents say she's able to live like a normal kid again.

After receiving a lifesaving kidney transplant, Theo Potts is celebrating a milestone that once seemed far away. At just 5 years old, Theo has already overcome challenges that most people will never face, showing incredible strength, courage, and resilience every step of the way.

For transplant recipients and their families, moments like this are so much more than a graduation. They are reminders of hope, healing, and the extraordinary gift of donation that makes milestones like these possible.

Congratulations to Theo and his family on this amazing achievement. We can't wait to see all the wonderful things that come next! 🎓💚

What began as a social media post became a life-changing gift, and a lifelong friendship.

Tiffany was diagnosed with a rare liver disease while still in high school. Over the years, her condition continued to progress until her medical team recommended a living liver transplant as her best option.

When Tiffany shared her story online, a family friend named Nora reached out and offered to be evaluated as a living donor. Remarkably, they were a match.

In September 2025, both Tiffany and Nora underwent surgery. While both faced complications during recovery, they are doing well today, and their bond has only grown stronger.

“Here we are in 2026… I am able to see another birthday. I am forever grateful to my donor, my ‘Organ Buddy.’ We have gotten so close through this whole process. It seems we’re more like family.”

Tiffany says the transplant experience changed the way she sees life, helping her focus on what truly matters and let go of what doesn’t.

Stories like Tiffany and Nora’s remind us of the extraordinary impact of living donation, and how one act of generosity can create hope, healing, and connections that last a lifetime.
