Viking Motorsports Portland State Formula SAE Viking Motorsports is an SAE team based in Portland State University. Viking Motor Sports Is Portland's only Formula SAE team.

Viking Motorsports' president Antonio had the lovely opportunity to share with KPTV Fox 12 Oregon about our club's purpose and experiences. He highlighted our students' projects, learning, and growth. He's been working hard to make VMS more inclusive/accessible to students and connect them with real world experiences they may apply in their academics and careers.

.....so we did a thing!! 🏎

We got the incredible opportunity to be part of an IndyCar race weekend at the OnlyBulls GP of Portland (8/7-8/9) and learn from professionals what goes on behind the scenes in the motorsports world. We were grateful to hear about their journeys to where they are now and learn about their amazing contributions to the motorsports industry. As students, the stories we heard fueled our aspirations to dream bigger for what we want to accomplish in our club and beyond in our careers. 💫

A huge thank you to Chip Ganassi Racing for this opportunity and showing us around! And thank you to Bee Berry and the PNC Team, Oregon STEM, Oregon MESA, PSU, and everyone else who also made this experience possible! 💚

Back in July, we had the amazing opportunity of giving students from the STEM Like A Girl summer camp a tour of our lab and answering all of their burning questions about cars, engineering, and design. They gave us many helpful (and fun!) tips on how to improve our design and build for next year.

We love and appreciate all the opportunities we get to broaden students' horizon and show them all the things they can do with STEM. We can't wait to see how these girls continue to grow and thrive in STEM!
