The Portland U13 Girls hosted St. John’s today and came away with a hard-fought 2-0 victory!

After a scoreless first half, the girls made some adjustments and came out strong in the second half. Bailey M. found the back of the net twice to put Portland on the scoreboard and secure the win!

Our defense played a huge role in today’s victory, battling for every ball, winning crucial challenges, and keeping St. John’s off the scoreboard for a well-earned shutout. Their hard work and determination were a big part of bringing home this win!

Another outstanding team effort! So proud of these girls and the way they continue to work hard, make adjustments, and battle together. Way to go, ladies!

The U10 girls traveled to Ovid Elsie yesterday, they came out strong and kept the O.E defense busy the whole first half going into half time 0-0. They came out the second half keeping control of the ball but were unable to stop an O.E goal ending the game with a loss 0-1. This does not reflect the amount of effort or skill that was seen today.

Portland’s U13 boys team, brought their A game today and played an extremely tough and competitive match against Hillsdale Heat! Hillsdale managed to be first to find the back of the net, but our Portland boys weren’t discouraged and fought back hard to tie it up before the half. After the half our boys stepped on the field motivated and working hard to earn the win. Eventually, their determination paid off when on a breakaway O. Brush blasted the ball at the net and unfortunately found the crossbar; but not to worry, Guffey was in perfect position and capitalized when he caught the ricochet with a header into the net!!! The Portland boys fought hard to hold onto their lead but in the last couple of minutes HSC managed to score one last goal. The game ended in a 2-2 tie, but the boys strong drive and refusal to give up was a wonderful site to see. Great Job Boys!

U9 boys fought hard and won a tough game against a very loud crowd in Charlotte today. The boys moved the ball very well and thanks to 3 goals from Timmy Phillips we kept things close, but a late goal from Turner Green sealed the win.
