VFW 4090 will be at Red Mill Community Days on Saturday, August 29, and we’d love to see you!

Many people know the VFW for supporting veterans, conducting Memorial Day ceremonies and marching in the 4th of July parade, but there’s so much more to what we do.

Stop by our booth and learn about the many ways VFW 4090 is working to serve and strengthen our community, including:

Supporting local veterans and their families
Youth scholarships and educational programs
Promoting patriotism and civic involvement
Community service and outreach projects
Honoring and remembering those who served

Stolen Lives Picnic

VFW 4090 Commander Huhn and VFW MI District 9 Commander Calley attended the Stolen Lives Picnic this afternoon on the Capital Lawn. This was the first Stolen Lives Picnic in America; it started in the UK. VFW MI was the lead sponsor for the event.

2026 Charity Golf Outing

Join VFW 4090 on the links for a day of comradery, fun, and laughter August 8 at the Portland Country Club. Registration is open at 0900 and we'll start at 1000. You can get a team form by visiting the Post during normal business hours, or by emailing us at [email protected].

But why stop at just golf? Show your support for our homeless veterans by donating hygiene products for the homeless men and women that served our great country. We have a drop box open at the Post and we'll have one available at registration.

Join us on August 8 at the beautifully remodeled Portland Country Club for a day on the course. We can't guarantee you will have a good score, but we can say that you will have a good time.
