Look up on Grand River Avenue. Our billboard is back, and it is beautiful. Filled with the handprints of this community, every color, every hand, every person. Because that is exactly who this is for. Every single one of you.

To every LGBTQ+ person in Portland and Ionia County: you are not invisible. You are not alone. This community sees you, values you, and stands with you. Not just in June. Every single day.

Living. Openly. Valuing. Everyone. That is not just our name. It is our promise.

Whether you are scared, grieving, not yet safe to be open, still figuring it out, or celebrating loudly — you belong here. You are seen. You are valued.

In rural communities, Pride can carry real weight. That is exactly why we exist. No matter where you are on your journey, you do not have to walk it alone.

What a night. 💙

Burger night at the VFW was everything we hoped it would be. Full of good food, good people, and a whole lot of love.

Thank you to everyone who came out, bought a bag, shared a meal, and showed up for this community. You are the reason this work keeps going.

Nature does not make mistakes. It makes variety.

Every human being arrives different. Different eyes, different hair, different skin, different wiring. We celebrate that. We call it what makes us human.

So why does that logic stop at sexual orientation and gender identity?

It shouldn’t. Because the science is clear. These are not choices. Not disorders. Not deviations. They are part of the full, natural spectrum of being human. The same biological diversity that makes one person left-handed and another right expresses itself across every dimension of who we are.

LGBTQ+ people are not a problem to be solved. They are part of the beautiful, varied fabric of humanity. And they deserve to be here, exactly as they are.

LOVE Is Stronger exists because lives depend on it.

More than 1.8 million LGBTQ+ young people seriously consider su***de every year. At least one attempts it every 45 seconds.
And here is what the research tells us: having just one accepting adult reduces a young person’s risk of attempting su***de by 40 percent.

One person. That could be you.

LGBTQ+ youth are not inherently prone to higher su***de risk. They are pushed there. When faith is used as a weapon. When the people and places that are supposed to be safe tell a child they are wrong for existing. That is not love. That is not faith. That is harm.

Show up. Be the reason someone stays.
