Good morning!

A huge thank you to Helena Powell for her excellent presentation on Permaculture at our June meeting! What a great presentation it was. Can’t wait to hear how people begin to implement the principles in their yards and gardens. Check your emails for more info!

Reminder: PGC will be meeting at Revolution Farms (they grow our geraniums and the plants for downtown) for a tour. 7/6 6-8 pm. I believe they will keep their farm stand open for us to shop! If you’d like to carpool, meet at the small parking lot across from 506 Canal Street at 5:15.

8/3 6-8pm, our own Ashley K will present on Monarch butterflies at the Red Mill. This was a magical time last year. Public welcome (this is a great event for kids!).

8/10 6-8, a trip the Fancy Nancy Flowers in Portland. Come see all the gorgeous flowers Nancy grows and sells. Learn some tips and pick your own bouquet.

Butterflies need safe little drinking spots too 🦋 A few tips if you make one:
🪨 Add rocks so butterflies have dry landing places.
💧 Keep the water shallow, not deep.
☀️ Place it somewhere warm and sunny.
🌿 Refresh it often so it doesn’t get gross.
🍊 If you add fruit, use just a little because it can attract wasps too.
It’s a simple project, but it makes the garden feel so much more alive.
