Portland Athletic Association We are proud parents, coaches, alumni, friends, and business members, working together to support Raider sports programs and PHS student athletes.

We are parents, coaches, alumni, business members and friends working together for all Raider athletic programs and PHS student athletes. Our purpose is to promote a positive attitude toward student athletics and support the Portland Public Schools athletic programs by providing financial assistance in maintaining and operating athletic programs for which no other provisions have been made. We als

o provide financial assistance to complement funding provided by the Portland School District in Portland, Michigan. We encourage the residents of the Portland School District to become an active part of the Portland Athletic Association (PAA) by volunteering to work events and concessions. We are not an organization of just parents of current athletes but a community organization that would welcome retirees, alumni, and any other interested individuals willing to help.

The PAA hosted it's first Scholar Athlete Luncheon on May 13th to honor those student-athletes who carried a 3.5 or better GPA during their sport. The PAA plans to continue this for the upcoming years!

The Varsity Softball team beat Lakewood twice on May 20th to secure a third place finish in the league. The Raiders were down 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh to come back to win with a two run homer from Lilly Thelen and a two run walkoff homerun from Kameryn Burnham. In the nightcap Bella Spitzley went 4-5 with a homerun, Lilly Thelen went 3-5 with a homerun, Molli Milliu went 2-5 with a homerun and Kameryn Burnham went 3-4. Great job ladies!
