WORK+SHELTER is an eco-conscious production center in Delhi, India that pays women who are in need a fair wage.

Our goal is to support women in-need in India by holistically addressing their needs. Foundationally, our social enterprise provides them with fair paid work in an environment where they feel happy, healthy, inspired and most importantly supported. Our non-profit provides the opportunity to plan diversified activities such as awareness creation, capacity building, skill development, and sustainabl

Did you know we have two versions of the classic Chore Coat?

The French Chore Coat: Featuring a relaxed shawl collar and classic patch pockets.
The Café Chore Coat: Featuring a sharp, classic collar and mismatched pockets.

We know these garments have to work as hard as you and your staff do. Both versions are designed to hold up to the realities of a busy environment, and yes, the pockets are still sized to hold a Toast card reader.

These photos were captured during our team’s recent work excursion to Neemrana Fort in Rajasthan, India. Built directly into a hillside in the 15th century, the fort's stunning tiered architecture provided the perfect historic backdrop for pieces designed to stand the test of time.

Some highlights from the leadership team's visit to the 2026 Expo today!

Our Founder and CEO Theresa, Director Sunita, and Creative Lead Ashrit spent the day at the world's largest textile event. Between meeting with vendors, checking out the trend labs, and walking through the interactive innovation pavilions, it was a great opportunity to see the newest sustainability concepts emerging in the industry.

There is a lot of exciting momentum happening in India's textile landscape, and the team is looking forward to bringing some of these fresh, sustainable ideas back to our own production facility.
