This past weekend, OWLS was featured during halftime of the Premier Lacrosse League broadcast on ESPN2 as part of the “Power of Us” campaign, presented by U.S. Bank.

The feature shares the story of James Cole, an OWLS Academy Scholar, and his journey from St. Malachy School on the West Side to St. Ignatius College Prep, to becoming a first-generation college student heading to Marquette. Along the way, it highlights the mission, staff, and community that make OWLS what it is every day.

We’re incredibly grateful to PLL Assists, U.S. Bank, ESPN, and everyone who helped tell this story with such care and authenticity.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch and share!

Last week, we kicked off our summer outreach program with our partners at CHIP Pilsen at McKinley Park on Chicago's Southwest Side.

Throughout the summer, we'll be back each week introducing young people to lacrosse through games, skill development, and plenty of friendly competition. We can't wait to keep attacking the "Dawg Days of Summer" with this crew!

A special thank you to staff, volunteers and especially to OWLS and CHIP alumni Diego Salinas and Juan Carlos Marquez Jr. for stepping up as coaches this summer!

As the Premier Lacrosse League returns to Chicagoland this weekend, we’re looking back at some of our favorite memories from a partnership that has grown alongside the league.

From clinics and equipment to funding support and unforgettable experiences for our students, the PLL and PLL Assists have been incredible partners. Most importantly, they’ve built genuine relationships with our community along the way.

This weekend, we’ll once again be riding the OWLS bus up to E-Town to watch the best players in the world compete. We can’t wait.

Thank you, PLL and PLL Assists, for continuing to invest in our students and our mission. 💙

Our first-ever OWLS Summer Camp was one for the books. 💙

Over the course of the week, our student-athletes built friendships, developed their lacrosse skills, took on team challenges, and enjoyed new experiences TOGETHER.

From collaborative activities and friendly competition to the Minecraft Experience, a beach day on Lake Michigan, every day reinforced what OWLS is all about—creating opportunities for young people to learn, connect, and thrive.

A huge thank you to our staff, volunteers, partners, and families for making an unforgettable week possible. We can't wait to build on this in the years ahead.

Please join us in welcoming Maeve Williams to OWLS as our first Director of Education! 💙

Maeve brings nearly a decade of experience helping students navigate high school, prepare for college, and pursue scholarship opportunities. Most recently, she served as a Senior Educational Counselor with the Schuler Scholar Program, supporting students and families through every step of their academic journey. Earlier in her career, she worked with the Beyond Sports Foundation, providing academic support and college guidance to student-athletes.

As Director of Education, Maeve will strengthen the academic pathway connecting our Junior Academy and Academy Scholars programs, helping students build the skills, confidence, and support they need to succeed in school and beyond.

We're thrilled to have Maeve join the OWLS Community...welcome to the team, Maeve! 💙
