Something beautiful is coming, and we want you to be a part of it.

You are invited to the grand unveiling of a new Marine Debris Display created through a collaboration between marine debris artist Elizabeth Roberts Make Art Not Trash and designer Tony Johnson from Chinook Indian Nation , Lewis and Clark National Historical Park , Oregon State Parks , NOAA Marine Debris Oregon Shores, and other community partners.

This special gathering will highlight the importance of protecting our ocean, coastline, and salmon habitats while raising awareness about the impacts of marine debris on the Pacific Northwest.

Pristine Prima’s Beach Cleanup at Mile 285

Join Primavera Salinas who adopted Oregon Shores Mile 285 in honor of her marine biology professor, who supported and inspired her to earn an Associates Degree despite mental health, housing instability, and other challenges.

On May 30, from 10 am – 2 pm, participants will walk with Prima, learn about her mile, and remove debris from this somewhat isolated stretch of the Oregon Coast. There will be a Spanish speaker present at this event.

This month, Oregon Shores is launching Fortify Our Future, a campaign to help stabilize our organization and protect the coast at a time of real financial uncertainty. As public funding for environmental work becomes less reliable, we are facing an immediate gap that must be bridged to keep this work moving forward with strength.

Our goal is to raise $500,000 by the end of August, and thanks to early supporters, we are already 22% of the way there. Every gift will help sustain urgent work across the coast, from community science and youth education to estuary advocacy and shoreline protection. We are meeting this moment with resilience, courage, and community. Donate today: https://oregonshores.org/donate/
