The BBQ is on!!!

Hi everyone. OSLC has continued to monitor and the smoke risk looks like it will be low enough for the board members running the event to feel comfortable being outdoors. We encourage everyone to make the decision for yourself as to your comfort and health. We will have masks for attendees that would feel more comfortable outdoors with one on in these conditions.

Regarding the heat today, the part of columbia park the BBQ will take place on is heavily shaded and should reduce the discomfort from the heat! We are just off of the nature path and will provide signage.

Given the smoke advisory, The OSLC Board is continuing to monitor the DEQ index and the potential impact of the smoke on our Leather Family BBQ this Thursday at Columbia Park from 5:00pm-8:00pm.

We are evaluating if it would be best to move the event to an indoor venue and we are currently looking for venue that can accommodate our event on such a short notice if we were to make a decision to move the event.

Our priority is creating a safe, fun event for the community and if the smoke continues to get worse, it may not possible to be safely outside for the length of time of this event.

As we move closer, we will post updates about the status of the event. Until then we will operate under the assumption that the event will move forward as planned. Please email [email protected] with any questions
