Relay Resources is a leading disability social enterprise nonprofit in the Pacific Northwest, with a mission to transform workplaces and communities by championing disability inclusion

We employ nearly 900 team members in four lines of business: building solutions, which includes janitorial, landscaping, and floor care services; document solutions; supply chain solutions; and disability inclusion

and accessibility consulting services. Additionally, Relay operates three programs: Supported Employment, which places and supports disabled people in competitive jobs in the community; abilIT, a new cybersecurity and technology training and job placement program; and Affordable Housing, which manages 850 units for 1,500 residents, 27% of whom have a family member with a disability. Meet 2026 DisabilityNext™ Summit speaker: Oregon State Senator Sara Gelser Blouin!

Senator Sara Gelser Blouin began her career in public service as a disability rights advocate and has spent decades advancing disability rights in Oregon and nationally. Her work has included expanding access to education, reducing institutionalization, strengthening protections for disabled people, and challenging systems that exclude disabled people from decision-making.

In 2010, she was appointed by President Barack Obama to the National Council on Disability and was later reappointed to the Council.

We’re honored to welcome Senator Sara Gelser Blouin to the DisabilityNext™ stage, joining leaders, futurists, and innovators for dynamic discussions and practical strategies to advance disability inclusion in the workplace.

What can 14 weeks change?

For abilIT graduate Jordan Hewitt, the program offered more than technical training. In this video, Jordan shares what he gained from the experience and how it helped prepare him for what comes next.

abilIT is a 14-week program that combines IT and cybersecurity training with professional development and job search support for disabled people, including neurodivergent people and veterans. The program is also completely free to students.

We have some big news to share.

This fall, Relay Resources will be taking over UCP Oregon's Employment Solutions program by welcoming their current clients and several team members into our Competitive and Integrated Employment (CIE) program.

We do not take that responsibility lightly. UCP Oregon has spent years building something meaningful: deep relationships with clients, families, employers, and community partners. We are honored to carry that work forward.

Relay and UCP Oregon share more than aligned values. We share the belief that disabled people belong. Everywhere. This transition is a natural extension of that shared mission.

Our CIE program launched in 2025 and has already seen success with a 78% retention rate and 80% of placed clients working 20 or more hours per week in alignment with their career goals. The Relay CIE program is built to grow, and we are ready for what comes next.

Relay Resources could be headed to SXSW 2027, and your vote can help get us there. 💚

Our proposed session is The Business Case for Disability Inclusion. It makes the case that, yes, disability inclusion is the right thing to do. But it’s also a workforce strategy backed by data.

Led by Relay President and CEO Dr. Jennifer Camota Luebke, the session will explore the business impacts of disability inclusion, what makes inclusion efforts resilient when budgets tighten, and concrete steps companies can take to build more inclusive hiring pipelines.

Ready to take the next step in your tech career? 💻

Applications are open for abilIT, Relay Resources’ 14-week program powered by Melwood and designed to prepare neurodiverse adults and veterans for careers in IT, cybersecurity, and tech-adjacent fields.

Participants build technical and professional skills, prepare for industry-recognized certifications, and receive job search support. And the program is offered at no cost to students.

After 14 weeks of technical training, professional development, and career preparation, cohort #3 has officially completed this rigorous program.

Offered by Relay Resources in partnership with Melwood, abilIT prepares neurodivergent adults for careers in IT and cybersecurity.
