YouthLine is a teen-to-teen youth crisis and support service provided by Lines for Life—a non-profit dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide. This month our volunteer highlight is one of our amazing Maui volunteers! This volunteer has been with us since last year, and has been such an amazing part of our Hawai'i team. We're so lucky to have youth like him who are dedicated to giving back to their community and learning how to support those around him.

It’s been a busy month for our YouthLine volunteers! 💙

Last week, three of our Maui volunteers traveled to Portland to visit our headquarters before being joined by five more Portland based volunteers for an incredible trip to Washington, D.C. ✨

While in D.C., our youth volunteers and staff participated in three panels and forums, met with delegates from Oregon and Hawaiʻi, and connected with mental health and crisis professionals from around the world!

We’re so proud of this amazing team and grateful to every volunteer and staff member who helped make this opportunity possible. Thank you for continuing to amplify youth voices and champion youth mental health! 💙

You may have heard people throw around the term, "sitting with your feelings," but a lot of us don't know what that means! Taking time to sit with it can look like giving yourself a chance to feel your feelings, without pushing them away, labeling them, judging them, or acting on them. This is a super important tool for managing our ability to handle distress when it arises. Try some of these tips for sitting with your feelings the next time you're having a tough time! 🫶
