From Portland Parks & Recreation Urban Forestry:
----
Our new Tree Care Assistance program provides income-qualified property owners within the City of Portland with financial assistance for the maintenance and care of existing trees on single-family, owner-occupied private property. The program helps reduce the cost and burden associated with tree care for lower-income households and improves the health and resilience of private property trees.

Tree care offered includes a tree health assessment, pruning, removal, stump removal, and wood waste removal. The Tree Care Assistance Program is funded by the Portland Clean Energy Fund.

Do I qualify for tree care assistance? To qualify, you must:

* Own and live in a single-family home
* Need care for a tree on your private property (not a street tree)
* Be enrolled in the Portland Water Bureau's Bill Discount Program

Visit https://www.portland.gov/trees/apply-tree-care-assistance for more information.

From the Portland Urban Coyote Project:
----
Portland neighbors are invited to Coyote-palooza 2026, a free, family-friendly street fair focused on living safely with coyotes. Coyotes can survive and even thrive in many different kinds of environments – including in cities and our backyards.

Learn about how coyotes support your local ecosystem and how to coexist peacefully, with the chance to win various prizes! The event will feature booths where you can learn about coyote identification and biology, participate in hands-on activities for adults and kids, and discover ways to keep pets and people safe. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of coyotes, the role they play in our ecosystem, and how to coyote-proof your space. Stop by for some fun and walk away with new knowledge and tools for coexisting with coyotes!

Saturday, May 30th from 8:30am - 2pm
North of the PSU Farmers Market (SW Park / SW Montgomery)
