On May 8th, the Schreiber HS freshman band got a one of a kind music education experience learning directly from the professionals of the NYC Ska Orchestra. Band leader Kevin Batchelor walked students through the origins of ska, handed them sheet music, and guided them through learning a full song from scratch -percussion included. By the end, they were playing it together beautifully. Challenging, rewarding, and unforgettable.

What began as an ambitious endurance challenge turned into a sweeping show of community support as fitness coach Steve Panzik completed a 25-hour, 100-mile run to benefit Port Washington schools, raising more than $30,000 for The Ed. Foundation.

Wow. Just wow. 💙
When Steve Panzik set out to run 100 miles in 25 hours for The Ed. Foundation, we hoped Port Washington would show up. You didn’t just show up — you blew us away.
We surpassed our initial goal of $25,000, raised it to $30,000, and surpassed that too. Steve ran through every school in Port Washington, through the night, and across the finish line — all for our students and our schools.
