We're hoping the case gets dismissed soon so we can continue to inform the public about the latest science, and help communities make informed decisions. As most of what is thrown away in households is compostable, the city began the FoodWaste Collection Program to alleviate the problem.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency no longer has any interest in protecting the environment or public health. Instead of making polluters pay, they expect taxpayers to foot the bill.



"Early this year, Steven Cook was a lawyer representing chemical companies suing to block a new rule that would force them to clean up pollution from “forever chemicals,” which are linked to low birthrates and cancer.

Now Mr. Cook is in a senior role at the Environmental Protection Agency, where he has proposed scrapping the same rule his former clients were challenging in court. His effort could shift cleanup costs away from polluters and onto taxpayers, according to internal E.P.A. documents reviewed by The New York Times."

A Trump appointee has proposed rewriting a measure that requires companies to clean up “forever chemicals,” documents show. The new version would shift costs from polluters.

📣💚🚌Green hat tip to... the Alliance for Electric School Buses, a partnership of nonprofit organizations who work to electrify the nation's school bus fleet, particularly in communities most harmed by air pollution.

💚🚌Vehicle exhaust typically contains a toxic mixture of chemicals, including endocrine disruptors, neurotoxins, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and fine particulate matter that can lodge deep in the lungs, and children are particularly vulnerable.

📣Green hat tip to... Hampton Roads, VA, for providing foam-free sample kits to food establishments as they prepare for Virginia's polystyrene ban. 💚🥤🥡🍽💚 Their BYO-To-Go campaign encourages customers to provide reusable containers for their take-out, reducing single-use waste.

🥤Styrene is considered a possible human carcinogen by the EPA, and many studies have associated exposure to styrene with reproductive problems and cancer. Research shows that styrene can readily leach from containers into food or drinks, especially hot liquids and alcohol.
