Today, October 13th was We Care About You Day!
What a beautiful day of sharing God's blessings at CCRT's Diaper Giveaway!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all our amazing volunteers who gave their time, energy, and loving hearts to make this event possible. Your kindness and dedication helped make the day so special for the families in our community and beyond!

And to the 30+ moms who joined us whether you arrived with your precious little ones in your arms or your babies still growing in your bellies, THANK YOU for coming! It was a joy to welcome you, share fellowship, and surround you with an abundance of God's blessings.

From gifts and diapers to baby books, handmade quilts, resources and so much more, our goal was to share love, encouragement, and support with every mom and baby. We hope you left feeling welcomed, cared for, and blessed!

THANK YOU TO OUR GENEROUS CHURCHES AND PRIVATE DONORS! Your incredible generosity helped make this event possible. Every donation, big or small, helped us share God's love with these mothers and their babies.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to Anita Barksdale from Trinity Health's Trauma and Injury Prevention team! Anita helped five mothers in need, each of whom received a NEW CAR SEAT! In addition, all the moms had the opportunity to receive a FREE car seat safety check for their vehicles. What a wonderful gift of safety and peace of mind for these mothers!

Once in the parking lot, look for the green door marked 53. Come upstairs, and our friendly CCRT team will be there to greet you!

Our Amazing SILCON Volunteers!

No matter what else is going on, how busy the day gets, or how chaotic things may become, our SILCON Furniture Warehouse volunteers keep showing up and getting the job done!

At the S.I.L.C.O.N. Furniture Warehouse (Silver Lake Church of the Nazarene) our delivery crews have one important mission: Getting furniture to families who need it.

They load, lift, unload, deliver and somehow keep smiling through it all! There may be a lot happening behind the scenes, but our volunteers stay focused on what matters most serving our community and helping families.

We are so grateful for every volunteer who gives their time, energy, muscles, patience, and heart. Thank you for making a difference, one delivery at a time!

Barbara has been leading CCRT since the very beginning in 2004, dedicating more than two decades of her life to serving others and helping build CCRT into the organization it is today.

Her humble spirit, caring heart, dedicated leadership, and genuine love for people are an inspiration to all of us. She has a special way of making everyone she meets feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

Office Volunteer Friendship!
CCRT Office volunteers came together for a wonderful afternoon of arts, friendship, and fun at the Village Players of Birmingham! One of our very own CCRT volunteers, Susie Gardiner, who retired after an 15 years of volunteering with CCRT, is one of the producers of the show.

We had the pleasure of seeing Once On This Island, a beautiful production inspired by Haitian culture, history, and folklore. The musical that tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl in the French Antilles who falls in love with a wealthy boy, Daniel, and makes a deal with the island’s gods to save his life, ultimately proving that love is stronger than death and prejudice. The show brings vibrant traditions, music, dance, faith, and a strong sense of community to the stage.

The cast was incredible! The storytelling, music, dancing, and energy! It was wonderful to experience a production that celebrates the beauty of culture, faith, friendship, and community values that are meaningful to us at CCRT as well.

If you have the opportunity, we highly recommend catching one of the upcoming performances. Shows run though October 4th.

Celebrating the Feast Day of St. Vincent de Paul , September 27th

St. Vincent de Paul, known as the "Apostle of Charity” and "Father of the Poor,” dedicated his life to serving those in need.

A man of deep faith and keen intellect, St. Vincent founded the Congregation of the Mission, the Daughters of Charity, the Confraternities of Charity, and the Ladies of Charity. His work helped shape the Church’s ministry to those experiencing poverty and inspired generations to put faith into action through compassionate service.

As we celebrate St. Vincent de Paul, may his example inspire all of us to look around our community and ask:

“Who needs a helping hand today?"

Grateful Beyond Words
Mario came in today for some assistance. He started our conversation with a big smile and said:

Without CCRT, What would I do?

Moments like this remind us how meaningful our work at CCRT can be. We are grateful for the opportunity to support our neighbors, lend a helping hand, and be there when they need us most.
