In a democracy, the voters decide. Today, the Virginia Supreme Court chose to silence them.

Just weeks ago, Virginians approved a temporary redistricting referendum to keep extremist lawmakers accountable. The NAACP proudly mobilized across the Commonwealth, contacting over 150,000 Black voters to help secure this victory.

By overturning this measure, the Court has rejected the clear will of the people. We are exploring all legal and legislative avenues to restore the will of the voters and ensure equal representation for every American. https://naacp.org/articles/naacp-condemns-virginia-supreme-court-ruling-ignores-will-voters

Virginia voters have spoken! Today, they voted to approve a redistricting referendum, delivering a decisive win for democracy, accountability, and voting power.

This historic outcome is a testament to the power of organized communities. Thank you to every voter, organizer, and volunteer who made this possible. Together, we fought back against disinformation and showed up for the country.

Let this be a blueprint for the rest of the nation as we head toward midterms. 💪🏾 naacp.org/vote
