A breath of Shabbat on a busy Monday. Monday Night Menucha is a gentle, drop-in gathering for grounding and rest. Each session is anchored by a short Jewish text or Hebrew phrase, moves into guided meditation and a niggun, and settles into an extended sound bath with singing bowls and other relaxing instruments. We close with a few minutes for quiet sharing. Mondays, October 26, 6:45pm ET at Cohen Chapel at Beit Kulanu. Register at https://tiferetproject.org/event/monday-night-menucha-2/

Looking for a different way to unwind and connect?
Join us this Monday, October 5, 6:45-7:45 pm ET at Cohen Chapel at Beit Kulanu, for an hour of uplifting communal singing through niggunim - wordless melodies from Jewish tradition that calm the mind and open the heart. We'll learn melodies together step-by-step, repeating them until they become familiar, then explore a brief teaching on singing as spiritual practice. No musical training, singing experience, or Hebrew knowledge needed - just bring your voice and curiosity. A joyful, accessible path into presence and community. Register at https://tiferetproject.org/event/tiferet-voices-niggun-circle/

Tonight! A breath of the harvest on a busy Monday. This gentle, drop-in Sukkot gathering offers gratitude, harvest reflection, and a chance to take up the lulav and etrog, moves into guided meditation and a niggun, and settles into an extended sound bath with singing bowls and other relaxing instruments. We close with a few minutes for quiet sharing. Wear comfortable clothing. The sound bath can be experienced seated or lying down — limited numbers of mats and blankets provided, or bring your own. No experience necessary. Just come as you are. Sign up for this free event here:

I really noticed it today — the quality of light at 4pm is a little more slanted than it was even ten days ago. Summer is being eased out. And even though, of course, I know it’s coming, I’m struck that Rosh Hashanah is less than two weeks away. I’m feeling the subtle tug of the season of return, the season of t’shuvah — the coming back to who I meant to be.

Teshuvah is often translated as repentance. But it pops up in my mind as that finger-pointing, stick-swinging Rafiki from Lion King, saying “think again!” We can go through much of a year on a kind of autopilot. Our habits, good ones and not-so-good ones, driving our actions so subtly that we barely notice them as habits at all. But the calendar shifts. The light changes angle. The ads we see are back-to-school and fall fashion. Our schedules reset. Something is ending, something else is beginning. Pay attention. Check in. How are those habits working for me? What did I mean to start doing differently? What did I mean to return to? Read all of Julie's September introspection at https://tiferetproject.org/starting-again/
