Last week, Danny Vereb, our Community Engagement Manager, attended the 2026 Annual “We Are Neighbors” Celebration at Baldwin High School! He is pictured with community partners from Whitehall Public Library and the Baldwin-Whitehall Educational Foundation.

The carnival-themed community event brought together students, families, and neighbors for an evening of international food, live entertainment, games, and community connection.

As we prepare to enjoy the summer months of June and July, JRF celebrates the power of community, freedom, identity, hope, and art represented in communities that can inspire connection and bring neighbors together.

During the month of June, we acknowledge Pride Month and commemorate Juneteenth. As we look to the summer in July, we reflect on the 250th anniversary of the United States and hold space for our neighbors and communities for a hopeful and healthy community.

The murals highlighted from West Homestead and McKeesport represent community pride, expression, history and togetherness that strengthen our communities.

JRF staff recently participated in Stop the Bleed training led by Manager of Emergency Preparedness and Response at AHN Jefferson Hospital Robert Gibson. The team learned lifesaving skills to help control severe bleeding in emergency situations.

Training opportunities like this reflect the importance of community engagement and preparedness. By strengthening knowledge and awareness around emergency response, we can help build safer, healthier, and more resilient communities.

Thank you to AHN for providing this important hands-on training experience for our team.
