This week, The Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia joined Mayor Cherelle Parker , city officials, and community partners for the opening of the Kensington Wellness Support Center. The center serves as a hub for healthcare, housing, legal assistance, behavioral health services, and other critical supports.

Through our New Day to Stop Trafficking program, we are proud to be part of this collaborative effort to connect vulnerable individuals with pathways to safety, stability, and recovery.

A woman of vision, perseverance, and purpose. Congratulations to Lorina Marshall-Blake on an extraordinary career and well-deserved retirement from full-time leadership at the Independence Blue Cross Foundation.

For more than three decades, Lorina has broken barriers, opened doors for others, and championed investments that have strengthened communities throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. Her legacy extends far beyond philanthropy—it is reflected in the countless lives changed through education, healthcare, workforce development, and community empowerment.

We are especially grateful that Lorina continues to share her wisdom, leadership, and passion for service as a valued member of The Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia Advisory Board. Her guidance, advocacy, and commitment to our mission help us advance hope, dignity, and opportunity for our neighbors across the region.

Today, we had the opportunity to celebrate National Donut Day with donut distributions for veterans at the West Philadelphia VA Clinic and Community Resource & Referral Center. We also made a surprise stop at the headquarters to thank the men and women who protect our city and leave them a sweet treat from our partners at

In addition to sharing donuts, our volunteers and staff had the privilege of thanking local veterans for their service and connecting with them throughout the day.
