These coats will be distributed to our local Salvation Army Corps, helping ensure they reach individuals and families in the neighborhoods we serve who need a little extra warmth this season.

Echelon Philadelphia is getting ready to KICK IT for a cause at our upcoming Kickball Tournament, bringing together young professionals, corporate teams, community leaders, and friends for some friendly competition, all while supporting the mission of The Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia.

Tomorrow, we Celebrate Hope. But before we gather, we have one more goal to reach. ❤️

For too many older adults across Philadelphia, the question isn’t simply “What’s for dinner?” It can be “Can I afford dinner after paying for my medication, utilities and housing?”

That’s why our $300,000 Celebrate Hope goal is about so much more than a number.

Every gift helps The Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia provide seniors with the things that make it possible to live with greater dignity and security—nutritious meals, food assistance, supportive resources, meaningful connection and a community that reminds them they are not forgotten.

Philadelphia’s older population is growing, and the need is real. Among Philadelphians age 60+ living in the community, 40% report living with some form of disability, creating additional challenges for many seniors trying to remain independent.

Today, I’m asking Philadelphia to help us close the gap.

$25 matters.
$50 matters.

25 Years Later: Remembering Service Beyond the Moment

In the days following September 11, The Salvation Army stood alongside countless volunteers and organizations at Ground Zero, serving people facing unimaginable circumstances.

Food, water and supplies met immediate physical needs—but the impact went much deeper. It was about showing up with compassion, offering hope, caring for our neighbors and being a steady presence when it was needed most.

Supplies were stacked high, volunteers worked tirelessly, and service became a source of strength and resilience.

As Commissioner Joe Noland reflected, “The impact of the Army’s presence went beyond food and supplies. It was about the mission.”

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, honor those who served, and recognize the countless unsung heroes whose compassion helped carry communities through one of our nation’s darkest moments.

Because in moments of overwhelming need, service is more than what we give—it’s how we show up.
