Boyertown Salvation Army was awarded $25,000 as part of several grants secured by Senator Tracy Pennycuick! These funds will go towards updating kitchen equipment and appliances that are used for their soup kitchen and after-school programs — both of which feed thousands of children and adults each year.

Yesterday, we welcomed our friends from FirstEnergy for a tour of our Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. We’re incredibly grateful for their $15,000 investment in our feeding programs, helping us provide healthy, nutritious food to our neighbors who need it most.

Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001.
On this milestone anniversary, we honor the lives lost, the families and loved ones who keep their memories close, and the first responders who put the lives of others before their own.
The days that followed brought extraordinary acts of courage, sacrifice, and service as people across the country stepped forward to help when they were needed most. Neighbors cared for neighbors, volunteers offered their time, and first responders continued their tireless work.
May we continue to honor them with the remembrance they deserve.

This summer, The Salvation Army in Williamsport welcomed Secretary Russell Redding to its Community Garden & Urban Farm as part of the 2026 Urban Agriculture Tour.

Each season, the garden grows more than 10,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables that are donated locally, while providing opportunities for students and neighbors to learn about gardening and growing their own food.

During the visit, Secretary Redding also presented a proclamation from Governor Josh Shapiro recognizing Urban Agriculture Week in Pennsylvania.
