Live to Serve is a non profit, organized to be an extension of a life long desire to help others. Since I was a child, I would tag along with my parents as they sought to meet the needs of others. It didn't matter how long it took to get there, how often an individual would need help, how much it cost, or where it was located-my parents were willing to give, serve and sacrifice. It's amazing how one small act of kindness can impact an individual's life. The gesture not only has an affect on the individual, but resonates with the giver or person performing the task. Mother Teresa said, "No act of kindness, however small is ever wasted". Each day, I ask God to help me to be His hands and feet, as I make up the gap in the lives of others. We want to impact lives, by caring for their needs and serving faithfully, one person at a time.

Hope and a Good Time

Live to Serve had a beautiful evening with the patients and families at Hope Lodge. We had the privilege of preparing and serving a meal, sharing stories, and simply being present.
Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give is a little Hope, a listening ear, a prayer, and the reminder that no one walks their journey alone.
Thank you to Hope Lodge, our Temple University family, and our incredible Serve Team for making this special night possible.

Atlantic City, we did it again! 🥳🥳🥳

For the 3rd year, Live To Serve brought our 2 Eat Play Live Summer Youth Program to Atlantic City, creating another summer filled with food, fun, learning, and meaningful moments.
And for the 2nd year, we partnered with the Atlantic City Free Public Library for our Summer Arts Program, giving young people another opportunity to explore their creativity and express themselves.

Two programs. Two incredible experiences. One mission: creating opportunities and making a difference in the lives of young people.

Thank you to everyone who helped make another Atlantic City summer possible. We’re already looking forward to what’s next!

Philly Youth Day ❤️

Another opportunity to create an opportunity for our youth and their families.
Today was a beautiful day. The weather was absolutely perfect, there was plenty of food, fun activities, great music, and an incredible team of volunteers ready to serve.
Our goal was to create an environment where the families who joined us would walk away saying, “They made us feel great.”
And I believe we accomplished that!!

A special thank you to Ra’Shaun and the Temple University family, Epic Church, our Live To Serve team, Block Church, DJ Rob and everyone who contributed financially to help make this wonderful day possible.
Your support helped us create a day filled with fun, joy, and meaningful experiences for our youth and their families.

The Prep

Today was all about The Prep for our annual Philly Youth Day, happening next Saturday, July 25th
We spent the day packing backpacks and preparing for a special day created with our youth in mind.
A special thank you to the Epic Church, This Is Love volunteers, Staples, our Serve Team and everyone who contributed to making this project possible. Your time, resources, and generosity are helping us create a meaningful experience for the youth we serve.

Committed to Serve ❤️

We wrapped up our 2026 serving season in Kensington. Each year, we have the opportunity to lean into the lives of our friends who are facing food insecurity, homelessness, addiction, and many other challenges.
Meaningful change happens because of individuals who are committed to making a difference and willing to sacrifice their time to serve others in need.
A special thank you to Sister Pat, our Temple University family, Fresh Smiles, and our incredible Serve Team. Your compassion, dedication, and support are truly appreciated!

Live to Serve was honored to do something special for the third grade students at West Oak Lane Charter School 🪴We were touched to receive special thank you notes from the students after providing water ice and pretzels.
Their kindness, gratitude, and thoughtful words remind us why investing in our youth matters so much.
A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Desmond and the entire administrative staff for their support, partnership, and warm welcome. We appreciate the opportunity to serve an amazing group of students.

Leaning In

We were blessed with beautiful weather and an even greater opportunity to lean in and serve our friends in Kensington.
In the busyness of life, sometimes all it takes is a moment to step into someone else’s story, listen, encourage, and lend a hand where you can. Small acts of compassion can make a lasting impact.
As we prepare to wrap up our time serving in Kensington for the year, we invite you to join us next month. Come serve, give, encourage, and be part of bringing hope to the community.
