Psalms 8 - is universally classified as a hymn of praise
The Psalmist proclaims a truth recognized by all who believe in the Holy Scriptures and the divine order of creation they reveal. We praise, exalt, and magnify the excellent majesty of the Lord’s name, Yahweh {yeh-ho-vaw’}. Even the babies, before the burdens of life, worldly distractions, and corrupting influences take hold, God has established within children an innate capacity to recognize His holiness. This testimony of praise stands as a witness against the enemy, the devil.
The Lord created mankind—each of us—a little lower than Himself and entrusted us with dominion over the works of His hands. He has crowned humanity with honor and responsibility within His creation. Therefore, let us praise our Lord, whose name is excellent throughout all the earth and whose glory extends beyond the world into the vastness of the cosmos, the heavens. Pastor David Ings
