If you get SNAP (food stamps) and you lost food during a recent power outage, you can request replacement SNAP benefits to get new food.

To get replacement SNAP:
- You must apply within ten days of when your food spoiled.
- Contact your local County Assistance Office or the Philadelphia Customer Service Center at 215-560-7226.
- Submit your request in writing and get a receipt.

Join us on TUESDAY, July 7th from 12PM-3PM for a community brunch and guided panel discussion and debrief with the HOME COOKED Co-Lab! This workshop is kicking off a series of events in July about Community Food Systems and Transportation as part of A People’s Exposition at the Kensington Engagement Center.

The HOME COOKED Co-Lab is part of Home Cooked Starts with Housing and Food and is rooted in the belief that people’s basic needs (housing, food, safety, and belonging) can be met, and that when we make it our duty to provide these things together, we thrive.

This event will be a guided debrief and conversation about a citywide food distribution effort led by the Co-Lab. Join us to learn more about food justice work happening across the city and to hear partners share their findings from participating in the Co-Lab micro-residency.

As the nation and city celebrate America’s semi-quincentennial, we want you to join us for a citywide exhibit and engagement series to take a critical and honest look at key issues shaping Philadelphia today, to envision a more just and equitable future for our city, and to act on co-created solutions that address our greatest challenges.

TOMORROW! SATURDAY, June 27th, Philly Pheminist will be hosting a clothing and resource swap at Crossroads Women's Center.

Bring a bag, leave with a bag of clean and gently used clothes and other resources.

The event will run from 12pm from 3pm with a suggested donation of $5-$25. Light refreshments will be available.

You are invited to bring your own bags for produce and other food items at the Center (5011 Wayne Ave in Germantown). Grab and go or pull up a chair and share a light meal with neighbors prepared by Chef Ruben Alexis of GiftBaby Postpartum Meals Program (while they last)!

HOME COOKED CoLAB is part of HOME COOKED Starts with Housing and Food, an artistic and community-based inquiry into how food and housing access are bound together led by Charlyn Griffith-Oro, Founder of the Free Brunch Program and Initiating Artist and Director of “Home Cooked Starts with Housing and Food”, and Producer Jena Annise Harris, Co-Founder of The West Philly Bunnyhop . The event is being organized by Wholistic.art with support from the Philadelphia Food Justice Initiative. Other distribution sites on June 27th in Southwest, West Philly, West Kensington, and Olney.
