👀 Gubernatorial Watch Party

Governor Josh Shapiro (D) and Commonwealth Treasurer Stacy Garrity (R) will face off in their first and only televised debate for the PA Governor’s race. The Pen and Pencil Club is hosting a public watch party for the event, which takes place on Wednesday, October 7 at 8 pm at 1522 Latimer St.

Free Art and Good Vibes 🎨

The first Sunday of the month is approaching, which means the Barnes Foundation will be free for all to attend. They are partnering with IPD Philly to honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Monday, Oct 12.

For those stopping by this weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to check out activities, watch performances and have full access to the newest exhibits that Barnes is offering.

Rittenhouse Square, painted for everyone to see. 🎨

The Greatest, a new mural by artist Keith Warren Greiman, now adorns the Philadelphia City Institute Library (1905 Locust St.). Depicting Rittenhouse Square and everyone and everything in it, the mural incorporates ideas gathered directly from neighborhood children and was dedicated by Mural Arts Philadelphia founder Jane Golden.

Enjoy an evening of ballet! 🩰

Philadelphia Ballet II and dancers from the School of Philadelphia Ballet are bringing a free outdoor performance to Dilworth Park on Thursday, October 1 at 5:30 pm.

Meet Maria Steblyna, a Ukrainian refugee and recent graduate of Philadelphia Performing Arts: A String Theory Charter School. As president of a student-led charity supporting children affected by the war in Ukraine, and a talented designer accepted to Parsons School of Design, Maria’s journey is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when opportunity meets determination.
