Created to center the creativity and lived experiences of Muslim women, immigrant women, and women of color while welcoming people of all backgrounds and the broader public, Threads of Renewal challenges conventional ideas about whose stories belong on the runway and what fashion can accomplish.

"Threads of Renewal is about more than clothing," said Michaela Corning, Founder and Executive Director of Barakah Beauty Collective. "It is about what happens when women are given the space, resources, and platform to create, earn, tell their own stories, and be seen on their own terms. We are using fashion as a bridge — between cultures, between communities, and between what has been discarded and what still has tremendous value."

This event will include:

🌟 JUST ANNOUNCED🌟 New WSMA 2026-27 statewide grant opportunity! Applications due Oct. 16 by 5 p.m. PST.

Thanks to the Washington State Department of Commerce, this grant cycle will fund collaborative projects that engage 2-5 strategic partners capable of innovating, reaching new entrepreneurs, leveraging expertise, and adapting existing resources to deliver comprehensive business services to WA-based microenterprises.

WSMA is dedicated to strengthening business technical assistance providers as they collaborate with economic development partners to support Washington's smallest businesses in achieving sustainable, equitable, and financial growth.

If your organization wants to build your professional network, expand the reach of your services, and/or develop a pilot that could lead to future grant opportunities from other grantors, this grant may be worth exploring.
