Today's Senior Spotlight is GRACE! Her favorite BNW memory: "All of the company classes on stage before a show. Those moments together before stepping on stage were always special and are memories I’ll cherish forever." When asked what she'll miss the most Grace states, "The people and the community. Ballet Northwest has been more than a studio; it’s been a second family. I will miss walking into the studio for rehearsal and seeing everyone there, ready to train, work hard, and have fun together." Her favorite roles are Odette and Sugar Plum Fairy. From Josie & Ken: "We will miss Grace's amazing artistry and versatility on stage - the dramatic effect and beautiful lines of Odette, the acting and carefree fun as Swanhilda in Coppelia, the strength and artistry as Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, and the technical authority as Sugar Plum Fairy have created lasting memories for us, her peers, and audiences. We also appreciate how approachable and kind she is to her fellow dancers, and as a volunteer classroom assistant she has been someone the younger dancers look up to." Today's Senior Spotlight is KARA! Her favorite BNW memories: "All the times when, on the last performance day, during warm up class, we would play fun music and dance and laugh together. Being there, having fun with everyone, made me appreciate the joys of dance and the amazing people I’ve found here at BNW." When asked what she'll miss most about BNW: "Not the costumes or the performances, but the people. I’ll miss my teachers and my friends whom I’ve grown up with and spent everyday with for 6 years. I’ll miss all the times in rehearsals, classes, tech weeks, and cast parties. But most of all, I’ll just miss being in the same room as all of them, because it’s hard not to be happy in a place with such amazing people." From Ken & Josie: "We'll miss Kara's hard work, strong technique, and dedication in the dance studio. It's been wonderful to see her grow into a leader through her volunteering as a classroom assistant as well as being one of the company liaisons."
