Our 2026 Community Survey is officially here, and we need YOUR voice to make it count! 📊
Quick backstory: Five years ago we started this survey to understand our community's experiences. It's grown from 500 responses to over 5,800 people from 65 countries last year. This data helps steer our work and bolster our advocacy for rights and acceptance.

Friends, I am excited to lead this year’s OPEN Annual Community Survey because we will dive deeper into our lived experiences by focusing on how experiences of stigma and discrimination impact our lives. Moving forward, on odd numbered years, the general survey will be conducted, while every even year, we will choose a new area of life to deep dive into. It’s a privilege to work with Amy C. Moors and our team of analysts to bring you a thoughtful, insightful survey that will directly support the work I do every day with local advocates across the country. Your lived experience will impact the way city councilors and legislators understand our community. Our survey data directly swayed opinion in Portland, Oregon and it will make a difference in cities and states to come. You make a difference when you raise your voice and I’m honored to uplift your experiences.
We've partnered with Dr. Amy Moors at Chapman University for a second time to formalize this academic research. That means stronger methodology, more robust analysis, and (expected) publication in academic journals! The survey: Anonymous, takes about 25-30 minutes, and covers topics of identity, experiences, resilience, and more. All forms of consensual non-monogamy are welcome, whether you're polyamorous, open, RA, sw***er, you name it. This survey is anonymous, no identifying information will be collected (e.g., no names, email addresses, IP addresses). As with any data collection, there is a risk of breach of confidentiality and we make every effort to keep your study data confidential. Chapman University IRB approved (IRB No. 26-13)

Eligibility: You must be 18 or older, practice/identify as non-monogamous, and can take part in an online survey in English. Participation is voluntary and anonymous.
