Virtual Event: July 10th, 2PM Pacific

Feel like you’re never completely on the same page about expectations with your partners? Need some support figuring out what kinds of agreements make sense for your unique partnerships? Join Dr. Justice and Cadence for a two hour workshop on building relationship agreements.

Drawing from their background as a second-generation polyamorist, who now works as a therapist working with q***r and nonmonogamous individuals, couples, polycules, and families, Dr. Justice is offering this resource to a wider audience for the first time. Justice has over a decade of experience using these agreements in their own practice of nonmonogamy, which has ranged over a broad spectrum of different relationship styles and structures. Cadence is a certified peer counselor who has been using relationship agreements in her various personal relationships as well as her peer counseling work for two years.

Relationship agreements have helped to dispel uncertainty, reduce insecurity and anxiety, aid in conflict repair, and facilitate complex arrangements including many different relationship styles within the same polycule. Templates will be provided for all participants as well as ample time to collaboratively brainstorm how this tool could strengthen your relationships.

Thank you to our sponsor, Chosen Family Law TX!

Stacey McLarty, Attorney at Law, is a web-based law office that harnesses technology to meet people where they are, providing clients with flexibility and convenience. You can consult with your attorney when you are ready, without getting dressed up, looking for parking, or trying to squeeze in a meeting during traditional office hours.

Dread making phone calls? Most communication can be handled by text and e-mail. For a more face-to-face experience, we can set up a confidential videoconference with real-time consultations and mediations.

Everyone is welcome (even the “normal” folks). You don’t have to have an unusual lifestyle to appreciate having a lawyer who listens to you and wants to customize solutions to meet your needs. If you do walk a less-traveled path, you can have confidence in an attorney who isn’t going to judge your lifestyle choices.

Leanne + Lola share tips on how to relate with your partner's partner and navigate the dynamic healthily

Our mononormative society teaches us that a partner having another partner is automatically a threat to your relationship security - but in non-monogamy, we learn to see things differently when multiple loves are possible. But what do you do when meeting your partner's partner for the first time - and do you even want to? What is your responsibility to handle in the dynamic, and what jobs are better left to the hinge (the person in the middle)? How do you go from feeling competitive with your love's love(s), to collaborative and maybe even compersive?

If the above questions resonate, this workshop is for you.

"On June 9, Hazel Park became the first Michigan city to pass a non-discrimination ordinance explicitly protecting people in non-monogamous and diverse family structures from bias in housing, employment and public accommodations.

"City Councilmember Luke Londo spearheaded the effort with support from OPEN, the Organization for Polyamory and Ethical Non-monogamy, a national nonprofit working to advance legal rights for non-monogamous families and relationships.

"The ordinance matters because the demographics have shifted. Only about 18 percent of American families fit the traditional nuclear family model, while an estimated 5 percent of adults practice consensual non-monogamy. Yet without legal protections, people in these relationships face discrimination in housing, employment and services."

Virtual Event: July 6th, 4PM - 5:30PM Pacific

In celebration of the Week of Visibility for Non-monogamy, join a workshop that focuses on joy in different relationship structures.

Most people have a hard time getting started in consensual non-monogamy (CNM) relationships because it is a shift from the style of relationship management they grew up with. In celebration of the Week of Visibility for Non-monogamy, learn from the research on relationship satisfaction in polyamory and CNM and gain insight to make your relationship more joyful. The dynamic duo of Tamara Pincus, LICSW and Dr. Eli Sheff bring research and lived experience together to chart the ways in which CNM relationships fall on hard times and how to weather the challenges while making the most of the good times.

Utah Gov. Cox quietly designates June as "Fidelity Month", stating that the U.S. Constitution was "made only for a moral and religious people."

Utah now joins Arkansas, Tennessee, and Alabama in cancelling state observations of Pride Month in favor of these discriminatory public proclamations that specifically exclude millions of Americans, asserting that they don't matter and that their lives, their families, and their human dignity are somehow a threat to American values.

Comments from OPEN:

Fidelity, family, and community are not values that belong to just one political or religious community.

2SLGBTQIA+ people, non-monogamous people, polyamorous families, and chosen families demonstrate commitment, care, and responsibility every day.

The state can recognize these values without erasing the history and purpose of Pride Month, which exists to affirm communities that have long been denied visibility and equal rights under the law.

Inclusion is not a finite resource. We are strongest when we make room for the full diversity of families and relationships that make up our communities.
