Invite your friends and grab your tickets! We are officially one month away from our gala, Currents of Hope!

✨ Dinner guests will have exclusive access to view our exhibit, Many Waters, which is a collection of visual story telling that showcases the journey, perspective, and wisdom of neighbors from around the world.

Gather with our community for an inspiring night of creativity, culture, and celebration.

Spero’s afterschool programming creates an inclusive place for students to not only grow in academics, but in confidence and sense of belonging here in Oklahoma City.

Our program is ran by our Global Communities Network-a team of leaders who have experienced resettlement, giving them the unique ability to connect with students based on a deep understanding and shared experience.

Our mentor shared that last year “the greatest accomplishment of the program was creating a joyful, welcoming, and emotionally safe environment where youth from different backgrounds felt included, valued, and supported. Even small moments-laughing together, painting, sharing snacks, celebrating cultures, or simply having someone listen to them-ended up meaning far more than we anticipated. The experience not only impacted the youth, but also deeply impacted us as mentors by teaching us patience, resilience, compassion, and the importance of consistency and kindness.”

We are honored to partner with over 200 students!

Our goal is to raise $7,500 for things like:

🦁 ⚽️ Group field trips to the zoo, museums, sporting events,
seasonal activities and more!
🎨 🔬Group lessons to explore interests such as art,
engineering, and entrepreneurship.
💻 🖌️ Registration fees for specialized art, sport, or technology activities!

Our after school program is led by trusted mentors who have experienced resettlement and have the ability to support students who are still in the language learning process.

School is officially in full swing!
At Spero, we’re celebrating successful enrollments, handling first day bus routes in spite of the nerves, and kicking off another year of growth for some amazing students we get to know!

We can’t wait to spend time with over 200 students in our After School and Mentoring Programs. And we want to make it a very special year of exploring skills, interests, and opportunities!

Our goal is to raise $7,500 for things like:

🦁 ⚽️ Group field trips to the zoo, museums, sporting events,
seasonal activities and more!
🎨 🔬Group lessons to explore interests such as art,
engineering, and entrepreneurship.
💻 🖌️ Registration fees for specialized art, sport, or technology activities!

Belonging matters.
And a key part of belonging is learning where you see yourself in the larger community. These activities are led by trusted mentors who have experienced refugee resettlement and can support students who are still in the language learning process. We can’t wait to see what passions, expertise, and career paths are formed over this season!

We are excited to share about Currents of Hope- our second annual dinner and auction that will be held on October 1, 2026.

This event brings our community together to celebrate the power of welcome while raising critical funds for programs that help refugee families build new lives in Oklahoma City. The evening is exciting as it will also include a special and exclusive tour of Many Waters, a collaborative art exhibition featuring Erin Shaw and members of The Spero Project community.
