OKC's HR professionals are here to help — join us at our next Pop-Up Career Center!

📍 Metro Library - Southern Oaks | Thursday, October 15th | Noon - 2 p.m.

Free and open to the public.

Twice a month this fall, OKC HR Pros are donating their time at metro libraries to offer hands-on career services — resume help, interview prep, and more. Each table covers one topic with activities, discussions, and take-home worksheets. It's structured enough to work as a two-hour session for workforce readiness programs, but flexible enough that anyone can drop in for just the skills they need.

Being in an HR Department of one can have unique challenges & not having a partner to bounce ideas off of can be hard. Join us & other HR Departments of One as we discuss HR topics of interest to you. Email [email protected] if you have specific questions you'd like us to discuss at the event.

Note: While we love of our ALL of our members, we want to keep this to HR departments of 1-3. If you are not leading HR functions in your company with 0-3 people on your team, then please don't register (so we can keep this to our HR Departments of 1 ish). October is Diversity Awareness Month!

Conversations about disability and employment often stop at laws and compliance. This session goes further: real people sharing real experiences of job searching, navigating the workplace, and building successful careers. They'll also share practical accommodations that worked for both employees and employers.

Meet our panelists:

Merlyn Romero, Business Services Liaison, Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services. She is bilingual, has 18+ years in education and vocational services, and is hard of hearing.

Yasmin Avila Guillen, CRC, ADAC, Administrative Programs Manager and Business Services Coordinator. She brings 10+ years in disability employment and employer engagement.

Brayan Zamarripa, Assistive Technology Specialist. He is bilingual, totally blind, and a Braille expert who lives independently with his guide dog, Macro.

Skills Lab - Employee Relations is officially in the books!

What a great event! We had a sold-out session and a packed house filled with HR professionals ready to learn, network, and grow their HR skills.
