At our Cornerstone ceremony Tuesday for our newly completed cigar lounge, our Grand Treasurer is ordered to make the deposit of the time capsule. Instead of the usual metal case, he pulled out a travel cigar humidor. Hilarious

✈️ Almer Stillwell "Mike" Monroney was born in Oklahoma City in 1902, and few Oklahomans have shaped daily American life as quietly as he did. He served in the U.S. House and then the Senate from 1939 all the way to 1969.

As chairman of the aviation subcommittee, he wrote the Federal Aviation Act of 1958 that created the FAA. That same year he sponsored the law requiring a price sticker on every new car, still called the Monroney sticker today. The FAA's Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City carries his name.

Did you know the window sticker on every new car is named for an Oklahoman?

Also, a member of OKC 36, raised May 19, 1928. He was the son of MW Almer Ellis Monroney PGM 1915 of the State of Oklahoma. Young Mike was the fellow in the short pants watching his Father laying the Cornerstone of the State Capital.

Master Masons who have yet to join the York Rite of Freemasonry, also known as the American Rite, will have an opportunity to do so this Saturday, the 12th of September, at Oklahoma City Lodge No. 36. The class of candidates for the annual York Rite Festival honoring Oklahoma's Grand Master of Masons MW Don H. Stanton, will assemble at seven in the morning.
Oklahoma City Lodge No. 36 is located at 2935 W. Britton Rd 1/2 mile East of the Britton road exit off the Hefner Parkway.
