Hack the Hood is an award-winning non-profit that introduces low-income youth of color to careers in tech by hiring and training them to build websites for real small businesses in their own communities. Hack the Hood didn't just teach them to code, it helped them see themselves as someone who belongs in tech.

That's the through-line from our 2025 Alumni Survey. We heard back from 98 alumni of our 2022–2024 cohorts, and the data tells the same story they did:
→ 84% are actively in the education pipeline
→ 87% of those in college are staying in STEM
→ 65% have landed an internship
→ #1 most valued program element: mentorship

This year, we:
→ Served 311 learners across 8 Bay Area counties
→ 💻197 digital devices distributed
→ 79% program completion rate
→ $119,186 awarded in Learn & Earn dollars

High school students — want to build tech skills AND earn college credit this summer?

Hack the Hood’s Hustle Tech Foundations + CIS 6 Dual Enrollment Program is a 7-week, in-person experience in Oakland where you’ll learn coding, explore tech careers, and complete a real college course.

📅 June 15 – July 31
🕘 Mon/Wed/Thurs, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

No coding experience needed.

Students will:
• Learn Python + tech fundamentals
• Build hands-on projects
• Earn 5 transferable college credits (CIS 6)
