Manifest with Bravery.

That message stayed with us after Executive Director Shaun Tai’s trip to Palm Springs for Engage for Good.

We are deeply grateful to Adobe for inviting Shaun to speak on the panel and for continuing to lead with care, creativity, and vision in the creative and tech space. It was an honor for BRIDGEGOOD to be in the room, and a true privilege to represent nonprofit voices from the Bay Area, California, and beyond.

As Shaun reflected on the experience, 3 ideas stayed with him most.

First, belonging matters.

At BRIDGEGOOD, we believe opportunity grows when people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Before someone can imagine a future in design and tech, they need to feel like they belong in that future.

Second, we have to stay ready to pivot.

The world moves fast. Community needs shift fast. Culture shifts fast. We cannot wait to adjust once every quarter. We have to listen closely, learn quickly, and respond month by month with care.

Third, storytelling still needs heart.

Tools can help us move faster. Technology can help us reach more people. But the soul of the story still comes from real people, real moments, and real truth. That human connection is what people remember.

Shaun also shared how much he never takes for granted the chance to do work he loves while being surrounded by good people and family. That spirit of gratitude shaped the whole trip.

Thank you to the good folks from Goodstack, Upworthy, and Mattel for the thoughtful conversations and shared energy. We left feeling inspired by what is possible when purpose, creativity, and community come together.

If you are a social impact leader, CSR leader, or creative partner who believes in spreading goodness, we invite you to support BRIDGEGOOD and share our work. Help us grow more belonging, more awareness, and more opportunity for the communities we serve.

Seventeen years of Inspire Oakland and the room was more electric than ever. 💛

Designers showed up with their ideas, their stories, their nerves, their families, their friends, and their full creative selves. And Oakland showed up right back.

This is what design for social good looks like.

It looks like students getting the mic.
It looks like a packed room listening.
It looks like teachers cheering.
It looks like families recording every moment.
It looks like young creatives realizing, “Wait… I belong here.”

To our Top 20 designers: you did that. You stood up, shared your work, and reminded everyone why student voices deserve to be amplified.

At BRIDGEGOOD, creativity is the input. Economic mobility should be the outcome. Inspire Oakland is just one moment, but it opens the door to what comes next: confidence, community, mentorship, career pathways, and real support beyond the showcase.

Thank you to everyone who came through, clapped loud, donated, judged, mentored, hugged, took photos, and made the space feel full of love.

This is Oakland.
This is community.
This is the design for social good movement.

Keep going. We’re just getting started. 💛

At BridgeGood, we believe longevity matters. Excellence in craft matters. Social impact matters. And when those values are built with honesty, consistency, and care, they continue to lead the way.

Creative Threads reminded us what becomes possible when creativity, opportunity, and community come together in a real and visible way. Seeing our students and graduates share their work with pride, celebrate at the Warriors game, and have their custom shoes showcased at Chase Center was a powerful moment for our community. It was bigger than a single event. It reflected what happens when young creatives are given space to grow, when craft is taken seriously, and when community investment becomes real.

We are grateful to the Golden State Warriors organization, the Golden State Valkyries, and Adobe for helping make this experience possible. Thank you for continuing to invest in creativity, visibility, and real opportunity for our students and graduates.

We also want to thank everyone who has stood with BRIDGEGOOD through strong seasons and challenging ones. Thank you to our students and graduates for trusting us with your time, talent, and dreams. Thank you to our supporters, donors, and funders who choose to do what is right, not what simply checks boxes. Thank you to the people who understand that real impact is built over time, with integrity, relationships, and follow through.

This photo means a lot to us because it represents more than attendance. It represents belief. It reflects nearly 2 decades of showing up. It reflects work that chooses substance over optics, people over transactions, and long term impact over short term recognition.

We are grateful for everyone who continues to stand with BRIDGEGOOD. For those who keep believing in this work and walking with our community through every season, we do not take that lightly. We will continue to deliver with excellence and integrity, with financial and economic mobility as the end goal.

Join us on May 5th as we unveil the Top 20 Inspire Oakland designs. Free RSVP at 2026inspireoakland.eventbrite.com, and please help us spread the word. 💛

For more than 17 years, Inspire Oakland has created real-world experience, opportunity, and belonging by helping put designers, artists, and creatives into the public eye.

Since 2009, BridgeGood has featured more than 80 creatives across billboards, bus benches, and LED displays throughout Oakland and the East Bay. Now, that visibility also extends to digital exhibits throughout Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK).

That means your work can live beyond a screen. It can show up in the real world and speak to the topics, culture, and movements that matter to you and to the communities around you.

Inspire Oakland design submissions are due tomorrow, April 15.

Inside Creative Threads. How Basketball, Design, and Community Came Together in Oakland | At BridgeGood, we believe the most powerful creative experiences happen when people feel welcomed, challenged, and supported in the same room. Creative Threads was a beautiful example of that belief in action.

Captured through the thoughtful lens of Sarah Yorn, this behind the scenes video offers a closer look at a day shaped by imagination, collaboration, and genuine community. From the first conversations in the room to the final custom shoe designs, Sarah documented the energy, focus, and joy that defined this special experience.

Creative Threads brought together Adobe, the Golden State Valkyries, the Golden State Warriors organization, The Campus, and 20+ BRIDGEGOOD Creatives for an immersive day rooted in design, storytelling, and self expression. Participants explored Adobe Express for brainstorming and creative concepting, then used Adobe Firefly to experiment with visuals and templates that helped turn early ideas into something personal and tangible. What emerged was more than a workshop. It was a shared creative process that honored curiosity, courage, and craft.

Sarah’s video captures the details that make BRIDGEGOOD experiences so meaningful. The quiet moments of concentration. The laughter between peers. The excitement of seeing an idea begin to take shape. The confidence that grows when a creative feels trusted enough to explore something new. Through her perspective, viewers can witness how design becomes a vehicle for connection, belonging, and possibility.

This day also reflected the strength of longstanding partnership. We are deeply grateful to Adobe and the Warriors organization for investing in a learning experience that felt both inspiring and deeply human. Their presence helped create an environment where young creatives could engage fully, think boldly, and feel celebrated for who they are and what they can make.

We are especially thankful for the people who helped bring the day to life. Kayla Thornton, GSV forward, spent time with participants and even designed her own shoe, adding warmth and excitement to the experience. Vicky Vo, BRIDGEGOOD Advisor, guided participants through the latest Adobe tools and opened the door to new ways of thinking through design. Veronne J. Clark, MPS helped ensure the day was thoughtful, smooth, and welcoming from beginning to end. Each person played a meaningful role in making the experience feel memorable and deeply cared for.

Most of all, Sarah's video is a tribute to the BRIDGEGOOD Creatives who showed up ready to learn, experiment, and create. At BRIDGEGOOD, we know that creativity can open doors to confidence, career pathways, and deeper self belief. When that creativity is supported by strong community partners, in person experiences, and tools that help ideas come alive, the impact reaches far beyond a single day.

Shaun Tai has never believed that technology alone is the answer. At BRIDGEGOOD, his leadership has always centered on access, trust, and opportunity, and on the belief that the future of tech should belong to more people.

That is what he will bring to EFG2026 this April, where he will join leaders from Adobe and Direct Relief for a featured session titled “Content That Connects: How Adobe, BRIDGEGOOD, and Direct Relief Are Rethinking Storytelling in the Age of AI.”

For BRIDGEGOOD, Shaun’s role in this conversation feels natural.

He has spent years building more than programs. He has built a clear point of view shaped by Oakland, community, and the realities students and job seekers face in a fast changing digital economy. As Executive Director, Shaun leads with a focus on tuition free design education, career coaching, and real world opportunities that help underrepresented talent move into meaningful work.

That clarity matters right now.

Nonprofits and community organizations are being pushed to create faster and adapt to new tools that are changing communications in real time. But speed is not strategy. More content does not automatically create more connection. Shaun has long emphasized the need to move beyond surface level messaging and focus on what helps people trust what they see and feel invited into something real.

At EFG2026, he will join Maeve Ozimec of Direct Relief and Olivia Zaller of Adobe for a candid session on what has changed in storytelling, what is working, and what organizations need to rethink to stay authentic in an AI shaped world. The session also includes a hands on Adobe Express lab where participants will build a custom brand kit and apply it to real campaign moments.

For BRIDGEGOOD, this moment reflects Shaun’s leadership at the intersection of thought and action. He is just as comfortable speaking about equity, design, and economic mobility as he is exploring new tools and helping teams think clearly about what technology is actually for. His leadership is not about chasing trends. It is about translating change into something useful for community.

That approach has helped BRIDGEGOOD become a trusted space for first generation students, women, nonbinary creatives, and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color learners seeking access to careers in design and tech. Each year, BRIDGEGOOD reaches 2,600 students through tuition free learning, coaching, and career connected experiences.

Shaun’s session at EFG2026 is a chance to share that leadership with a wider audience. It is also a reminder that BRIDGEGOOD’s work has never been about keeping up with technology for its own sake. It has been about making sure people are not left behind by it.

As storytelling continues to evolve, Shaun Tai is helping define what comes next. Content with purpose. Technology with integrity. And stories that still feel human when it matters most.
