⭐ ALUMNI PRECEPTOR SPOTLIGHT: Robert Nocon, PhD
From HCC intern to mentor, preceptor, and champion for the next generation of health leaders, Dr. Robert Nocon’s HCC journey is a powerful example of what it means to give back.
Dr. Nocon began his HCC journey as a Southern California intern in 2002. Today, as an Assistant Professor at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, he has spent years opening doors for HCC interns, personally mentoring and supporting students while also encouraging colleagues and departments across the School of Medicine to host HCC interns of their own.
The impact is remarkable.
Former interns connected to Dr. Nocon and the KPSOM/HCC experience have gone on to medical and graduate school, residency programs, health policy roles, community health organizations, and careers throughout the health professions. He has also hired former HCC interns, continued mentoring them beyond the summer, and helped create a growing network of HCC alumni supporting one another.
This summer, Dr. Nocon and the KPSOM team once again welcomed HCC’s Southern California interns for an immersive site visit featuring faculty and staff panels, presentations, the anatomy laboratory, training spaces, and opportunities to learn directly from health professionals.
We are proud to celebrate Dr. Nocon as an HCC Alum Giving Back and grateful for more than two decades of connection, mentorship, and commitment to those coming behind him.
💙 Thank you, Dr. Nocon, for continuing to lead the next generation.
