Fischoff wishes to thank the Community Foundation of Elkhart County for a grant award in support of our education programs.

Each year, Fischoff brings world-class musicians to work with Elkhart County students through varied programs that cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, creativity, and leadership skills – all important skills that contribute to academic achievement and long-term career success. Programs like Fischoff’s Stories & Music ("S.A.M. I Am"), give 2nd graders the opportunity to use music to crack open literature and to build their reading comprehension; workshops during Fischoff’s Double Gold Tour give middle and high school students opportunities to work with and get advice from emerging artists; mentoring visits by Fischoff’s Peer Ambassadors for Chamber Music pre-college musicians provide Elkhart students inspiration and motivation for musical studies in middle and high school; and Fischoff’s Chamber Music Academy provides infrastructure for Elkhart-based middle and high school student ensembles to work with professional coaches to dive into chamber music and perform outreach concerts in the community.

Through this effort, Fischoff is able to expand equitable access to high-quality arts education across Elkhart County, all while preparing students with career awareness, employability skills, and confidence needed for future success. Thank you for helping us fulfill our mission of inspiring lives through breathtaking performances!

Putting Trio Caspar’s composer knowledge to the test!!! Who do you think had the best answers?

🎶: Trio Caspar, Suite for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano, Op. 157b - I. Ouverture - Darius Milhaud. Recorded at the University of Notre Dame’s O’Neill Hall of Music and Sacred Music, Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Trio Caspar spent their last day of outreach on Monday talking musician to musician with the students at Goshen HS and Goshen Junior High. While coaching the Camerata Chamber Orchestra, they dug into how to use your full bow to get more dynamic contrast, balance low notes by crescending into them, and get clarity in your 16th notes 🎶

These curious students appreciated being able to ask questions from “How long have you all been together” to deeper questions like “Have you ever thought of quitting?” Trio Caspar’s answers were funny, thoughtful, honest, and inspiring, showing students how respect for one another, making time to live your life, and setting micro-goals can keep you focused on realizing your dreams. Some students even asked for Trio Caspar’s autographs!

Thank you to Trio Caspar for an amazing Gold Medal Tour and for representing Fischoff with such poise, skill, and graciousness. We are delighted at how you shared the incredible world of violin, clarinet, and piano trios with so many students and audiences in the Midwest this month! 🌟

On their second day of outreach last week, Trio Caspar traveled to St. Joseph, Michigan, to give young musicians at Upton Middle School and St. Joseph High School a glimpse into their process for bringing music to life. Students’ jaws were on the floor as Trio Caspar journeyed from the first to the fifth movement of Stravinsky’s “Soldier’s Tale,” successfully identifying the tritone interval and its role in the piece’s storytelling abilities.

In addition to swapping imaginative stories with students, Jason and Bogang worked with the Fischoff Chamber Music Academy’s piano quintet at St. Joseph HS while Andrea hosted a mini-sectional coaching for their clarinet players. The trio navigated a wide variety of questions, including quantity vs. quality of practice time, the benefits of listening to non-classical musical genres, and the importance of keeping music in your life, regardless of the form it takes. What an inspiring day of learning for everyone! 🎶

Trio Caspar kicked off their Gold Medal Tour on Monday with visits to our partner schools, Washington High School and Edison Middle School, and a masterclass with two of Fischoff’s Chamber Music Academy ensembles! 🎶

Students heard marches, folk tunes, boogie-woogie, funk, and more with exciting repertoire by Stravinsky, Schoenfeld, Khachaturian, Larsen, and Milhaud. Trio Caspar demonstrated the extended techniques and unique sounds that bring this music to life while sharing advice and answering questions thoughtfully.

Thank you for taking these students behind the scenes and for your generous spirits, beautiful playing, and mindful artistry in opening the door to the world of clarinet, piano, and violin trios.
