Under Caesar's Sword

Under Caesar's Sword Under Caesar’s Sword is a three-year, collaborative global research project that investigates how Christian communities respond to persecution.

Under Caesar's Sword is a collaborative global research project that investigates how Christian communities respond when their religious freedom is severely violated. Research centers around three core questions:
1. How do Christian communities respond to repression?
2. Why do they choose the responses that they do?
3. What are the results of these responses? The project's team of 14 of the world'

s leading scholars of global religions have studied some 100 beleaguered Christian communities in over 30 countries including China, Indonesia, Nigeria, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, and India. The scholars' cumulative findings about Christian responses to repression will be publicized through a wide range of media:
• International Rome Conference on the fiftieth anniversary of the Second Vatican Council's declaration on religious freedom, Dignitatis Humanae
• An edited volume of scholarly essays in which the scholars present their findings in their full academic rigor
• A public report of the findings that will be translated into four languages and distributed
around the world
• An interactive website that distributes the findings: ucs.nd.edu
• A short documentary film
• Curricula for schools and churches
