Our Mission

The Northfield Area Family YMCA builds strong kids, strong families, and a strong community. Our Vision

We aspire to be a premier gathering place for our community. We will work as a trusted partner and collaborator with the many other organizations in our community that provide programs and services to enrich Northfield, building a healthier, more active and more engaged community

. Our Values

The Northfield Area Family YMCA will operate by the values it hopes to cultivate in the communities it serves: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. These values will direct the governance of the organization, the creation and operation of its programs, and the conduct of its leaders, staff, and volunteers. The YMCA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, mission-driven, community based, public charity organization. Thanks to the generosity of our community and donors, the YMCA will not turn anyone away from its membership or programs because of an inability to pay.

Last summer’s athletes brought the energy — and we’re ready to do it again! 💪☀️

Summer Athlete – Peak Performance helps teens build strength, speed, endurance, and confidence through guided workouts and supportive coaching all summer long. Whether preparing for sports seasons or simply staying active, this program is designed to help athletes train hard, grow stronger, and have fun doing it.

We are beyond excited to welcome back two familiar faces from our camp counselor crew for another amazing summer!
Croix, AKA Maverick, is returning for his 5th year at camp and his second year in the role of assistant director! When he's not at camp, he enjoys ice climbing and exploring the outdoors. His favorite part of camp is meeting all kinds of kids and counselors, new and returning, and one of his favorite camp memories is throwing water balloons off the roof during Water Week. Croix will be a sophomore next fall at UW Eau Claire.
Maiah, AKA Cap, is back for her 4th year at camp! She is a triple major in History, Philosophy, and Political Science at Bethel University — and is taking the LSAT this week, so wish her luck! She loves dancing in the pool during Camper's Choice and convincing the campers to sing and dance along. Her favorite camp memory is choosing counselors for kids to pie and sharing lots of laughs with kids and staff.
We're so grateful to have Maverick and Cap back. Their role is integral to our camp programs running smoothly all summer long and being tons of fun for everyone involved. Be sure to say hi when you see them around camp and around the Y this summer!

Even though the Group Exercise Studio is closed, our Rock Steady Boxers are still getting together. Last Thursday, instead of working out, our 2 classes came together for lunch and community.

Rock Steady Boxing isn't just about fighting back against Parkinson's Disease physically; it is also about being together and supporting each other through the ups and downs. "WE ARE ROCK STEADY!"
