🌟 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Help A Great Day Farm this June! 🌟

This summer is our busiest season, and Carleton’s Lighten Up Sale with Special Olympics Northfield is a key opportunity to raise funds for the farm.

💚 The best part: the farm receives funding based on volunteer hours served, so your time directly supports the farm!

We need 2–3 volunteers on-site at all times, and shifts are flexible. You can sign up for just the hours that work for you!

📍 Location: Laird Stadium, Carleton College
📅 Dates:
• June 20–21 | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• June 22–24 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

🎉 Volunteer perks include:
• Early access to shop the sale
• Free lunch on select shifts
• Feeling good about giving back!

If you've been to the farm over the last month, you've likely seen a large pile of dirt and fencing where our original swing set used to be! 👷‍♂️🌪️ We appreciate your patience with the dust as we work to build a brand-new swing park area.

Thanks to the support of some incredible funders (shout out to Taylor Family Farms Foundation, Northfield Shares - Northfield MN Community Foundation, Special Olympics Minnesota, Treasure Island Resort & Casino, & the Carl & Verna Schmidt Foundation) as well as an amazing planning team, we've been hard at work reimagining this space so that it can fully meet the needs of our adult populations.

This project simply isn't possible without community support! If you have connections to gravel, concrete, boulders, tree plantings, or lumber, give us a shout. We'd love to work with you!

And, if you have time and talent to give, keep an eye out, we will have some great volunteer opportunities associated with the park over the next few months!

Wednesday, June 10, 10:30 am: Music & Movement session 🎶🕺
Saturday, June 13, 12 pm: Nature Arts with teaching artist Angie Ekern 🌿

Whether we are making art from materials found right here on the farm or getting moving to the music, there are many ways to express your creativity!

Join us for Adaptive Bike Day this Thursday, May 7! 🚲

We’re excited to host an Adaptive Bike Day in partnership with Achieve Health & Wellness, LLC and Freedom Concepts! These friends will be on-site to offer a wide range of adaptive bikes designed to meet a variety of needs & ages. Come by for an inclusive, low-pressure opportunity for individuals and families to explore adaptive cycling, try different bikes, and find what feels right for you.
