Sometimes what a young person needs isn't someone to fix everything.

They need someone who shows up.

Someone who listens.

Someone who remembers what they told you last week.

Someone who celebrates the little victories.

Someone who believes in them—even when they don't believe in themselves yet.

That's what a mentor can be. 💜

You don't have to have all the answers.

You just have to be willing to be there.

Every child deserves to belong. 💜

Foster care can mean new homes, new schools, new communities, and a lot of uncertainty.

But a child's need to feel connected doesn't disappear.

They still need friends.
They still need encouragement.
They still need opportunities.
They still need someone cheering them on.

Most importantly, they need to know:

I matter.
I belong.
I am worth investing in.

That’s why This Is Me exists.

We help remove financial barriers so youth in foster care can participate in sports, activities, and experiences that build confidence, create connections, and help them feel included.

💜 Become the Difference in a Child's Life.
Every child deserves someone who believes in them.

For youth impacted by foster care, one consistent, caring adult can make all the difference. A mentor isn't expected to have all the answers—they simply show up, listen, encourage, and remind a young person that they matter.

At This Is Me, we believe every child deserves an identity that is bigger than their trauma.

That's why we're looking for adults who are willing to invest just a few hours each month in a young person's life.

Whether you're ready to become a mentor or simply want to learn more, we'd love to meet you.

Mentors must:
💜 Be 21 years or older
💜 Commit to at least one year
💜 Complete a background check
💜 Spend 4–6 hours each month with their mentee

No experience is necessary—we'll provide the training and support every step of the way.

At This Is Me, we believe identity is one of the greatest protective factors a young person can have.

Our mission isn't to help children relive their trauma.

It's to help them discover who they are becoming.

Because every child deserves an identity bigger than their trauma.
