We will not be accepting Prom dresses this year, but Cinderella’s Closet is a wonderful alternative!
We will be accepting jewelry for prom and hair accessories; which can be dropped off at NHS or contact me for meet up arrangements!
We are always in need of NEW care items like trial size deodorants, skin care products and hair care products. We can not accept expired or used products. Thank you for your consideration for Cinderella’s Closet and the Raider Closet!

The Raider Closet team appreciates all of the support and encouragement from our community! Since our Nfld News article, I’ve been asked often this week; “What are you in need of?” Other than the obvious hygiene items, we could use more new/gently used jeans, joggers and sweat pants of all ADULT sizes in mens and women’s! Hoodies, hats, mittens and socks as well! Items can be brought to NHS! Leaving your name and address is a great way for the students to send thank you notes (and donation receipts!)

The NHS Raider Closet is in need of school supplies! The first Quarter proved to be a busy one and we are out of pencils, notebooks, binders, folder, etc. Any donations would be appreciated as we go into the 2nd Quarter! Donations can be dropped off at the HS or contact me for other arrangements! Thank you for your consideration!
Other items we are accepting: New or gently used Mittens, Gloves and Hats of all adult sizes. Especially Raider sets!
Fun fact! Our average amount of clothing items that are chosen during flex ( 1 hour) is 30 items! Care products are even more! Which is why we are running low!

Yesterday was our first day back in the Raider Closet! A great day of teamwork getting racks and shelves filled for our NHS students!

Some items we are lacking a variety of and hope to be able to offer to students;
String bags/ backpacks
School supplies ( planners, notebooks, folders, pencils/pens, ear buds)
Hoodies and T’s of all adult sizes ( most popular with all students!)
Raider apparel; all adult sizes/ all seasons.
New Water bottles
All personal hygiene items such as deodorant, lotions, body washes, shampoo/conditioner, chapsticks etc
Hair brushes, hair binders, hair products.
Pants hangers

We are still not able to accept most clothing donations due to storage accommodations. Be sure to watch for updates when we resume those collections!

The Raider Closet will be available to NHS students once again this year! Please keep us in mind when you are school shopping! Lunch boxes, Backpacks and NEW Water bottles can also be added to this list of items we are collecting to kick off the school year! ! Hold on to clothing for now, please!

Forgetting deodorant, ripping your pants, not having a number 2 pencil for an important test? These are all problems that Raiders face, and can all negatively impact theirs and others' learning. The list goes on of these “small inconveniences” that can really make a difference in a school's environment. The Raider Closet hopes to provide a judgment free space to help students and faculty combat these problems.

In December the Northfield Environmental club put together a clothing swap where students donated clothing and other students were able to shop the donated items for free. The makeshift thrift store was able to benefit both the students and the planet. This event, alongside the creation of “closets” in many other neighboring schools inspired us to make our very own at NHS. Similar to the clothing swap, our Raider Closet has an array of benefits, and in a way is an expanded, permanent version of the event.

Our space will provide personal hygiene items for those who do not have access to them at home, or simply forget sometimes! We hope to provide clothing for anyone who needs/ wants it for various reasons. We will also provide donated athletic gear for athletes, Raiders gear and school supplies alongside many more miscellaneous items.
We hope to create a space that is both CREATED BY STUDENTS AND USED BY STUDENTS. Our hope is to create a welcoming space. We plan on collaborating with many clubs and activities at the high school to decorate the space, create artwork and welcome students.
We would highly benefit from any help the Northfield and surrounding communities has to offer with this project.
